Social Profile:

Founded and run by a couple of flavor-obsessed queer food system nerds, Sugarwitch crafts small-batch, from-scratch frozen treats in St. Louis, Missouri. Our ice cream sandwiches strike the balance between nostalgia and innovation, all named for bad-a** witches of literature and lore. While our flavors rotate with the seasons and our imaginations, our practices—from sourcing to labor—are always guided by a commitment to building a more equitable food system. We believe that nothing is more delicious than a frozen treat made with care and concern for people and planet.

Absolutely fantastic! I always adore their seasonal flavors. I live out of state but am thrilled whenever I can make a stop here when traveling through. Persephone (black cocoa brownie + pomegranate) is out of this world, and Becky (gooey butter+ lemon) is a delicious STL homage. Even slightly melty after a long drive, every bite was fantastic.

Love the concept and execution. As a foodie I really appreciate tasting new flavors and textures and Sugarwitch nails that perfectly with their Ice Cream Sandwiches. They are very creative in how they pair their unique ice cream flavors with a variety of equally creative sandwiches. Check out the menu and you will surely see what I mean. Bring a cooler with you when you go as you will surely want to bring a few “witches” home with you. Can’t wait to go back.

Vert friendly and inclusive staff. Saw this cute place on Tiktok and felt the need to go whenever I visit St Louis next. The float I had there was so awesome! And the honeycomb cookies that I ended up eating upon getting home were super good also. Verified that the ice cream was indeed made gay

We drove four hours just to have ice cream sandwiches! They are amazingly delicious. We also bought four of the custom truffles. These are some of the best! It is worth the trip to get a tasty treat here. With the seasonal recipes, there is always something new!

It’s called Sugarwitch but both times I’ve been in, I’ve failed to be bewitched by their ice cream

Both times I’ve left thinking the same thing: their ice cream sandwiches and tacos are creative and the sandwich/taco outside is tasty, but the ice cream itself falls way short. Last time I had Sweet Em’s the same day and noticed a big difference between the quality of what I had here vs there, and this time I had Clementine’s yesterday and I feel like Clementine’s vs what I had here are in completely different leagues.

The choco taco was good, but $12 good? Not even close in my opinion. The cookie butter charm bar was definitely solid, and if you like the Butterfinger candy bar, this is a Butterfinger on steroids.

cookie butter charm bar > Choco taco > neopolitan ice cream sandwich > key lime pie ice cream sandwich > black sesame cookie with passionfruit ganache

Every time I’ve had a Sugarwitch ice cream sandwich, it’s been a delight! They often have booths at the many cycling events around the city, and it’s the perfect post-ride treat! The folks working the booths have been kind and patient with all of my questions. The Elfaba is my current fave! Om nom nom nom

Sugarwitch is endlessly creative and such a charming space. I am picky about ice cream, and this is delicious. My favorite is anything strawberry—theirs is the best, creamiest strawberry I have ever tasted. I also had an espresso flavor with cookie bits recently I especially loved. I adore any of their ice cream sandwiches made with rice crispy treats—the Thai tea this summer was chef’s kiss. And I really appreciate the light hand on the syrups in the coffee and tea drinks when requested. When in doubt get the Ursula—that brownie! What a friendly, delicious, adorable ice cream shop!

This shop is a lovely little place right on the corner of an intersection. While parking is a bit tricky, the incredible customer service is quality food, and Is atmosphere make up for it. While inside seating is limited, there is plenty of room outside of the shop.

The chocolate ice cream taco is amazing! With ice cream and peanuts. The ice cream is thick and creamy.
