The food here was really flavorful, a good selection of both fingers food and full plate entree depends on your mood.
They have a full bar to make any cocktails you like. They also put in effort to decorate your drinks and make it look more fun. Of course the bartenders and drinks here are very good too!
The drinks are well made and enjoyable, with a good selection to choose from. The food is solid and pairs nicely with the cocktail menu, making it a convenient option if you’re looking to grab both in one place.
One of the highlights is the location. Being in the Castro, it’s surrounded by streets that are perfect for walking around, browsing nearby shops, and hopping between different spots before or after your visit.
The staff has always been welcoming and friendly during our visits, which makes the experience feel relaxed and comfortable. Service has been consistent, even when the space gets busy.
I had been here a few times prior to moving to San Francisco, and now that I’m fully living here, we’ve continued to stop in occasionally. It’s nice to have a familiar place in the neighborhood that feels easy and approachable.
Overall, Santeria delivers a fun experience with good drinks, tasty food, and friendly staff. It’s a great place to check out if you’re in the Castro and want a lively spot to relax and enjoy the area.
The chips, orange salsa, puffy tacos, and some of the drinks are standouts.
They’ve got a sweet deal on Mondays—$9 margaritas, and we tried a bunch of flavors. The prickly pear was good, but the mango totally blew my mind! Trust me, go for the mango.
We kicked things off with chips and queso topped with chorizo. Didn’t grab any pics because, honestly, we were starving and dove right in. Everything tasted awesome.
For the main course, I had the quesabirria tacos. Seriously, these tacos were off the charts. So juicy, packed with flavor—everything you’d want from a taco and then some.
It wasn’t my first time here, and it definitely won’t be the last. If you’re in the area and want some great eats without the fuss, Santeria’s got you covered.
Santeria is beauty. The look design of the space is beautiful. The comfort of the chairs is beautiful. The staff are beautiful. And the food goes beyond beauty. It’s an experience and during happy hour it is all so reasonable.
How good is this place. I don’t eat pork. This was a cultural experience so when I realized that there was pork in several dishes I recognized that this was also an opportunity for a cultural experience and understanding. I understand that in Canada we don’t do Mexican good justice cause it is incredibly beautiful.
If you’re in the Castro come here!
