Noodles, dim sum & other traditional Chinese dishes in an elevated destination with outdoor seating.

Been ordering this dish every half year. See it gradually became more and more expansive, with more and more “sophisticated” calculation from the restaurant owner.
Long story short, you can make another meal for your friends after you finish all the edible part now! Nothing beats a full bone pig feet, right now you can save 26£ per person by not ordering dishes here, that’s nearly 100£ for a family of four!

My family enjoyed their general tso, but I did not like the vegetable fried rice. Lack of flavor, way too many mung beans/bean sprouts with little actual vegetables. I can only compare to Han dynasty who also has a relatively plain vegetable fried rice, but still able to impart impeccable flavors. Nevertheless, I had to stop going to HD due to a bug in my food. I don’t think I’ll try anything else from here, but it’s good that my family enjoyed their meal.

We visited Sang Kee Noodle House for a birthday dinner and left feeling underwhelmed. It doesn’t measure up to Sang Kee Peking Duck House in Chinatown. The food here is just average, portions are smaller, and the prices are slightly higher. Service was lackluster. The only real advantage is that the location offers easier parking.
Overall Ratings:
Restaurant: 3/5
Service: 2/5
Food: 3/5
Parking: Street Parking (more convenient than Chinatown)
Atmosphere:
I liked the decor—clean, open, and modern—but the menu is quite limited. Unlike the Chinatown location, there’s no Peking duck on display, and the variety just isn’t there.
Service:
Nothing notable. We ordered, they brought the food. The staff didn’t seem particularly attentive or engaged. Overall, the experience felt pretty forgettable.
What We Ordered:
-House Special Noodle: Just okay. The flavor was weak and didn’t stand out.
-Braised Beef Flank Noodle: Also just okay. The broth lacked depth and had a strange aftertaste.
Neither noodle dish came with wontons—you have to pay extra for those, along with other typical add-ons. It felt like everything that would normally be included came with an extra charge.
Final Thoughts:
I probably wouldn’t come back. If I’m craving Sang Kee, I’ll stick to the Peking Duck House in Chinatown. Sure, parking there can be a hassle, but the food makes it absolutely worth it.

We stopped by for dinner and were seated right away. The table and floor were somewhat sticky. We got the Crispy & Spicy Calamari Rings. While they were tasty, the panko bread crumbs were barely on the calamari and could have been fried a few seconds more. We got the Sweet & Sour Shrimp and the Taiwanese Spicy Beef Ramen with fried egg added on. The Sweet & Sour Shrimp came with pineapples and green peppers and a side of white rice. The Taiwanese Spicy Been Ramen was not spicy at all and had more of a soy sauce tasting broth than anything else. That dish was not very enjoyable. I have been here many times over the years and have always noticed their food is a bit bland.

My family and I went there on new year’s eve dinner and we could walk in. There were several tables and the food were really food. The beef and broccoli was so good. Beef was soft. Everything else was so good too. Will definitely go back again.

I ordered the lamb dish from Sang Kee in University City and honestly was disappointed, especially for a $19 meal. The lamb was very dry and tough, making it hard to enjoy. For the price point, I expected something tender and flavorful, but this felt rushed and sloppy. The rice and greens were fine, but nothing special enough to balance out how poorly the lamb was prepared.
I’ve enjoyed Sang Kee before, but the quality seems to be slipping. For nearly twenty bucks, I think it’s fair to expect consistency and care — not dry, chewy meat.

Located in the lobby of the Sheraton. Very tasty and authentic food. A little higher priced but it is University City after all. Food came out nice and hot, minutes after ordering, even though they were super busy. Great portions and everyone happily tucked in. I am still partial to the original C-town location but sit down or take out – this place is 2 thumbs up for me !
Update 6/9/2022 – still consistently great food. Had another great get together – “family style” ! Good place for a gathering.

Excellent Chinese restaurant! It’s inside Sheraton so I was expecting maybe a more Western style Chinese food but to my pleasant surprise, it’s very authentic and wonderful for my Chinese palate. The waiter is really friendly. Service is great and food came out quickly. I can tell it’s quite popular among the Chinese students in the area. Good variety of dishes including dim sum, congee, Peking duck, noodle soup, stir fried dishes, etc. everything tasted fresh and delicious!!
