saw advertisement for Portillo’s, so when my friend asked if I would like to join them for lunch at Portillo’s, I agreed almost immediately.
When we walked in this place was very busy they serve Chicago style hotdogs, burgers and shaved beef steak sandwiches.
This place has an outdoor sitting area which was very clean, inside was very clean and neat in appearance and well organized. Staff were efficient and hard working. We didn’t deal any servers as we used the kiosk at the front to place our orders.
I ordered the Italian beef sandwich meal with onion rings and a small soft drink. My friend ordered the big beef bacon cheese burger with crinkle fries and soft drink.
My Italian sandwich, was very tasty, but look nothing like the picture, the onion rings, were very crispy, hot and very delicious. My friend said that her big beef cheese burger with bacon, was very delicious and her fries were very good and well seasoned.
You better believe it, I will return and try their chili cheese dogs now that I know they’re 100% beef. Hope to see you there.

Great place to eat!!! Our party of 3 arrived on a Sunday around 4pm. There was no wait and were able to order immediately. There are 3 kiosks to order from but those were occupied so we ordered at the counter. We got the big burger bundle + bacon (cheeseburger, fries & drink) which is $9.99 + tax. We also got their famous chocolate cake. The food was ready within a few minutes and was great!!!! We were too full to eat the cake so we took that home for later. We will definitely be coming back

Just meh all around. The Chicago dog was the best thing, but the fries are lame and the Italian beef sandwich was bland and the bun was soggy. Plus, if they charge $.99 for peppers…so give me some more peppers so I can taste them.

Knowing how busy Portillo’s in Chicago and the Colony have been, we were amazed to come by at lunchtime today, Friday, to discover we were first in the drive through line. In fact, the only car in line. Perhaps it was just 11 a.m. The line at Portillo’s in the Colony during its grand opening week took us at least an hour to wait through. Sounds crazy doesn’t it? That’s why the one in Grapevine should be a joy and a must if you want to get your food quickly.
The beef sandwich and hot dog were delightfully tasty. The chocolate milkshake was also flavorful. The young lady taking our order was friendly and careful reviewed our order for accuracy.
This was our second visit to Portillo’s Grapevine. The first was several months ago just after it opened. We hope business picks up so more people have an opportunity to appreciate how good the beef and hot dogs are. If you get the beef sandwich, be sure to dip it into the juice which is a cross between au jus and gravy. They call it Italian beef gravy.

First time trying the beef & sausage combo. Didn’t like it at all. I spoke to the manager asking him how i could make it taste better. He offered me hot peppers and more gravy or what i know more commonly as au jus and said it would be no problem to switch out to something else instead if i still didn’t like, as he wanted me to be pleased with my visit. Well the additions didn’t help. I feel like the flavors of the 2 different meats clash and i didn’t like the snap of the sausage skin vs the soft bread and soft chopped beef. I just took off the sausage and boom, back to what i like. Plain ol Italian beef is where it’s at. I also tried the new salted caramel spice cake. Bad idea. Whoever decided to put that kind of frosting on a spice cake needs to go back to the drawing board because it was not good. Im used to pumkin spice muffins or carrot cake so I was good with the cake part but as soon as I tasted the frosting by itself, I knew thats where they went wrong. HUGE FLAVOR CLASH They need to reintroduce it with plain ol creamcheese frosting…dassit!!! Now in this instance I immediately went back up and asked for the manager who immediately obliged my request to swap desserts. The service here is great thats for sure.

Got to try Portillo’s Plant Based Garden Dogs made with @fieldroast hot dogs, mustard, relish, celery salt, onions (I prefer grilled), tomatoes, sport peppers, pickle and a poppy seed bun!
So delish! & they’re open late! #Portillos #Fieldroast #PlantbasedHotdog

Burgers, no flavor! Burger King does a much better charbroiled burger.. Chicken strips are like compacted sawdust strips. Not real white meat. THIS IS NOT IT! The best thing was the piping hot fries. Chili dog looked nothing like the advertised photo.
I have reviewed foods globally, and this is one of the worst places. Customer service wasn’t even an option at this location. Overhyped and underwhelming.
Literally could not finish any of it…..

Don’t care what anyone says…it reminds me of Chicago and growing up! I had the Maxwell polish and fries with a chocolate cake shake. I was in HEAVEN!! Took a friend and her daughter with me who are born and raised in Texas and they loved the food.

I love this place. I eat here a couple times a week at least. I will continue to come back. But today for lunch, someone decided to take my dog to WRESTLEMANIA! Obviously my dog lost. Look at the pics. No need to rough my buns like this.
