This is an old-school Dairy Queen, a throwback to yesteryear in remote Breckenridge, Texas, a welcome sight along a lonely stretch of Highway 180. I doubt the decor has changed since the 1980s, and I love it. The store even has stained glass murals on the ceiling depicting oil wells, a nod to the industry that drives rural Texas.
The service was excellent, with friendly young people running this outlet. The fries were very fresh, and the pepper gravy was actually quite good and appropriately peppery. The buttered toast was alright, and the chicken fingers are better than most Dairy Queens. Kudos to the fine people of Breckenridge for upholding the DQ name!

No more. My steak fingers were stuck together so they didn’t cook all the way through. At least the fries and gravy were OK. The toast was toast,so they nailed that.

Went through the drive through at 9:25 (they close at 10) for ice cream and service was horrible. Person taking my order acted like we were such an inconvenience to him. Not to mention the workers that I saw lacked some serious hygiene. It should be mandatory that your nails must be kept short and CLEAN. This guys REAL nails were at least an inch long and so dirty. I couldn’t even eat my food because of the way I saw them handling it. Bare hands inside of ice cream cups, wiping hands on their shirts/pants after making an ice cream. Did not see them wash hands in between any orders at all. Terrible experience.

Walked here from the hotel across the street at 9:40 pm on a Sunday. They close at 10 pm and lobby was already locked. Everyone working was apparently hiding in the back. I was with a friend and she was tapping on the drive through window while I went to get my car because most places don’t allow walk ups. They were initially trying to turn my friend away, but when they saw my car pull up they took our order only to receive two kids meals, not in the kids meal bag or with the toy and the nachos that was ordered did not have very much cheese at all Have they just been compliant we could’ve ordered and gone on our way before 10 o’clock. We did leave by 10:01 PM and to top it off the manager was actually on duty trying to refuse service. I did go the next day to get my free dessert that comes with every kid meal because I’ve had Bariatric surgery and cannot eat a regular meal so was familiar with this practice. I don’t appreciate your petty behavior shout out to the dude with the ponytail who was very kind and helpful. No name badge so I don’t know his name.

Waited nearly 30 mins and they were trying to serve me food I saw waiting on the line finished for over 5 mins. They acted like it just became ready but I saw it sitting over there forever while the workers tended to other guests over us. They had to give us cash refund instead of back to our card for whatever reason. Nope I won’t come back. I traveled 400 miles avoiding toll roads and this location effectively ruined my trip

Ordered food, they let it sit on the line for so long I finally gave up and got a refund and left I waited so long while they served the drive thru and just let my food sit there, they ignored me and when I finally asked for refund they were like ” your foods ready I’ll grab it now” after it got cold on the counter for a good minute was absolutely ridiculous service and manager should be fired for allowing that go on, the person who took my order wouldn’t give me my receipt and lost it so they had to find it in the computer and reprint. This place is a definite no-go. I imagine they only stay in business due to little to no competition. If you’re from out of town, try anywhere, but here

Go before or during the lunch hour’s. The evening works are slow an not very friendly. I ordered a crispy chicken salad with bacon an ranch dressing. Did not get any bacon at all on my salad an it took 22 minutes to get it from drive thru. The food is great. They have steak fingers an chicken strips baskets. An fabulous burgers. The service is just not the best from the younger group in the evening.
