The owners are truly some of the kindest, most down to earth people you’ll ever meet. And the name Moonfish is so fun, whimsical and totally fitting for a place that just makes you happy the moment you walk in!
Now let’s talk about the stars of the show, the brews and the food. The draft beers are one of a kind and absolutely worth the trip alone. Must try the fest, west coast IPA and iron pier. But the food is Next level! The chef clearly knows what he’s doing because everything is a winner in my books!
We ordered the Korean BBQ egg rolls, short rib grilled cheese, jerk chicken tacos, mozzarella moons, Moonfish Dip AND the “Girl Lunch” that comes in a giant martini glass is the cutest!
Overall, it’s a 10/10 experience from start to finish. Already counting down the days until we come back!
I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
The menu hasn’t changed much either. Portions are generous, and there’s enough variety for most people to find something they’re comfortable ordering. Typical bar food options – nachos, burgers, etc. I’d recommend the pickle chips as an appetizer – they were the clear favorite at our table. We all ordered flights and liked the IPAs and the sour; both were solid picks and made it easy to try a little bit of everything without committing to a full pour.
Service was friendly and laid-back, which fit the overall vibe of the place. The staff was attentive and told us about the new ownership. They were out of a few beers we chose for our flights, but we were able to all get something we liked. Staff was also very accommodating when we had a special request with one of our orders. I’d return, especially once the weather warms up. The outdoor patio across from the river is a great spot to spend time, and it adds a nice reason to come back in the summer.
We always get excellent food and service when we go to RBH!
The grand nachos are amazing the bang bang shrimp, awesome tacos, and the fig and pig pizza. Outstanding! Cassie at the bar always takes great care of us.

I am so happy to have found the new location of Lilly Flanagan’s new restaurant the Riverhead Brew House! I am a huge fan of their Palate Brew House so when I heard that they opened closer to home (Hampton Bays) this was very exciting news.
Their food and selections are amazing among their selections of beer and cocktails.
We always enjoy their huge pretzel served with 3 sauces (cheese, mustard and if I recall correctly, a spicy horse radish sauce?). We love the fig and pig pizza, amazing. Their burgers are awesome as well as the tacos and I particularly love the French dip!
They offer happy hour specials (don’t remember the times and days but I will say after 3pm. I don’t want to quote incorrect info. I do know that they have $5 off most apps on the menu (not all) and their taco Tuesday is a great deal as well. Awesome wings (bone in or boneless) with a choice of sauces and seasoning.
The service is awesome and everyone has a great personality!
Make sure you get there and experience their food choices!
When I called the restaurant, the owner sounded annoyed, asked someone in the background whether fries had been put in the bag, and offered no apology. There was no acknowledgment that a mistake might have been made, just defensiveness.
When I went back to the restaurant to resolve it, he told me it was “just fries.” But it’s not “just fries.” It’s part of the meal I paid for. It’s my dinner at the end of a long, stressful week. It’s overpaying for a wrap as it is and then not receiving everything that comes with it. And it’s having to make a second trip after already driving there once, all while being told the order was correct because “he doesn’t make mistakes” as my husband stood there checking his phone to confirm he ordered what we asked for.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how they’re handled. A simple apology and quick correction would have resolved this immediately. Instead, the dismissive attitude made the situation far worse than the missing fries ever did.
