So sad this place is shutting down April 12. We went here for the first time yesterday and the food is phenomenal. Our waiter was extremely sweet and answered our questions about chili oil and how they prepare their food (A++++!). I got the beef meatball pho and it was DELICIOUS! We also got spring rolls, egg rolls, and bao buns, and chicken fried rice which were so so so so so so so good.

To go, we ordered their vermicelli with pork (delish) and found that everything reheats very well!!! I’ve never had pho or any Vietnamese food before, mostly Chinese and Japanese dishes. This went beyond my expectations! I hope you are able to re-open here or around here. We will miss you <3

King Pho… well, best I can say is that it was “ok.” Was nicely greeted when entering which was a plus, especially in North Dakota.
The layout quite open reminiscent of a warehouse. One corner had what appeared to be spare equipment stored in the open.
Rice noodle dish with Pork and an egg roll was lite on meat, and overall tasty. For the price it was insufficient though.
This is the closest Vietnamese to my current town (80 miles away), so it was worth a try, but not one to return to. Much better Viet food in Fargo.
Waitress was nice. Delicious Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. It was nice as a desert, and the best part of the experience.

Came here once. Never again. Waitress was nice but owner unfriendly. Just staring and no hello and welcome and no goodness or enjoying greeting customers even tho I was right in her face. I ordered shrimp vermicelli noodles and all it had was days old and overcooked hard shrimp and cucumber slices, lettuce, and carrot slices and so little of it that o asked for a side of bean sprouts and basil leaves like my friend got with her beef pho. The owner charged me $2 for this by the way even tho my dish of $14.99 came with barely any veges. The picture shows the noodle dish with me after adding my request of sprouts and basil leaves. Otherwise it would be pretty bare bones. They gave me the sweet and sour sauce it comes with but too little so my noodles had no taste and I had to ask for more sauce. Then my girlfriends dish was the beef brisket pho and the picture is accurate to what it came like from the start…mostly broth and noodles and barely any meat. She didn’t care for her basil and sprouts much so I added hers to my barebones shrimp noodle dish which is why mine looks a bit more colorful. She ordered 2 shrimp spring rolls and there was barely any shrimp and barely big enough to fill up on (2 for $6.99) and it came with a thick peanut sauce only even tho rolls taste good with both this and the sweet and sour sauce but she only got peanut sauce. So after chewing the hard shrimp that came to my dish cold, little sauce that I had to ask for more sauce, being charged $2 for some sprouts and basil to add to my measly noodle dish of old shrimp
With cucumbers and lettuce and carrots, then tipping the waitress 15% to be nice, my meal or $18 was simply not worth it. To add to that the lack of warmth of the owner was off putting. I will find another Vietnamese place in Grand forks when I am desperate. Took me 6 months to try my first Vietnamese place and this is what I got so I am not expecting much from the other ones honestly. Better to just cook at home and buy frozen shrimp from Walmart and make the noodles and sauce myself and add veges. Note…as I mentioned, I had to ask for the basil and bean sprouts which they charged me $2 extra for which I have never been charged in my entire life of eating out for a quarter of a century in Europe and half the 50 United States at a Vietnamese place.

First day in town so I decided to stop here to grab my dinner for the day as it was a chilly day for this southerner. As I walked in the restaurant was empty and one of the waitresses I’m assuming was sleeping on the chairs. Which made me wonder what the heck have I walked into. I was skeptical at first but tired from the flight and then hour drive so i decided to just give it a chance. I would say I’m glad I did as the food was amazing great tasting food full of flavor. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for some good PHO.

Ordered carryout. Got the combo fried rice with no vegetables. Food was obviously overcooked as shown in the picture attached. They always skimp out on the shrimp, but I noticed they skimped out on the portion of the entire meal. I also found a hair attached to the overcooked shrimp in the pic, but I removed it. I don’t know if it was a bad day or something, but I’m weary of going back.

The pho seems like it was made with soup base not legit pho. For veggies you get some cilantro and cabbage lol. Won’t be back that’s for sure

Great place eat some Pho. Prices were in line with any other Pho place that I have ate at in the past. Service was prompt and food came out fast. The Pho tasted average. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. Spring wills were very well done as well. Overall I would certainly recommend King Pho to anyone in the Grand Forks area.

Ordered a pho with beef and meatballs. Ordered a spicy beef pho. Ordered fresh spring rolls. The bill was Over 45.00. Wasn’t worth it. Broth Wasn’t great and I eat pho all the time, I got a few basil leaves, no cilantro. I added my own in. One slice of a jalapeno. Maybe 8 pieces of green onion and omg I got 7 pieces of bean sprouts. Are you kidding me??? The spicy beef, had nothing to go with it but noodles. We will not go back. The girl who was behind the counter was not friendly either.

I ordered a pork banh mi sandwich today and it has to be the worst Vietnamese sandwich I’ve had in my life. The sandwich does not have the Vietnamese banh mi sauce, no daiko, barely any carrots, no cilantro, no peppers but it does have lettuce!! Which should not be on a Vietnamese sandwich! They should be ashamed for calling it a Vietnamese sandwich.

Brought a friend to King Pho to introduce her to something new, and we both tried the chicken pho—it tasted great! The flavors were on point, and it was a good experience overall.

That said, we were hoping for some fresh, crispy veggies to elevate the bowl a bit more. Also, since we were 1 of only 3 customers at the time, we expected a little more attentive service.

Still, it’s a solid spot to grab some tasty pho, and I’d definitely come back to try other menu items!
