Went down Oracle and found ourselves hanging out at Gringos Grill & Cantina.
They had 13 folks at the bar having a great time, two bartenders and a two cooks slinging food.
Matthew was honest out the gate they were short handed so we gave them some slack on a Friday night.
Menu is full of value and flavor, we ordered an Elote Chicken Salad and a Carne Asada Burro. The sprite drinks was flat and they ran out of sun tea mid afternoon.
Chips were super stale, salsa had great flavor not hot so you could eat it by the chipfull.
Elote Salad presented well, chicken was dry and low flavor other then the grill char that wasn’t over powering. The salad itself was chopped greens and cabbage, tomatoes, Cota cheese and a creame dressing. The mini corn cob was cold.
The Carne Asada Burro was good size and flavor but the meat was over salted, yes salted can be subjective but as a salt lover it was a bit much. Rice was cold, beans were luke warm but had good flavor.
Overall 5.6 of 10

Realizing Green valley rolls up the streets at 8:00 p.m. I decided to come here around 8:45 on a Saturday night November 15th. I stood at the hostess counter for roughly 5 minutes looking at the menu and nobody is there to seat me even though the sign says please wait to be seated. After a while I finally just went to sit down there are a few people at the bar and maybe one other couple eating so reason to be ignored if you’re not busy. I’ve eaten here before and had I guess halfway decent service but I couldn’t even get the busboys attention. After watching the bartender interacting with her clients and she can clearly see me I decided to wait a few more minutes for her to send somebody over but that never happened. They have a really fun menu and I was really looking forward to it but don’t ignore me I’ve spent hundreds of dollars here with birthday parties and playing topgolf what’s my friends and family but I don’t think I’m ever coming back

What an absolute let down… I mean this place should just close. I ask the server how are the fajitas? Because I can’t stand ordering them, and a vegetarian dish is served, with minimal meat. With confidence, she says they’re good. She proceeds to set a plate in front of me with 5 of the tiniest strips of flavorless steak. The only thing fajita about these was the sizzle plate. At least they got that right. Thinking maybe the rice and beans would at least be a filler. I fork a small bite, because I was trying to savor the again tiniest portion of one of the cheapest fillers on the planet, beans… They seemed to be fresh from the refrigerator. So I turn to again, the third tiniest portion of the second cheapest filler on this planet, rice. Again, refrigerator cold, and an absolute let down. At this time some family with uncontrolled offspring walks in. Starts sliding tables and chairs across tile floor, allowing their uncontrollables too literally scream as loud as the could… This might honestly be the absolute poorest experience I have ever had anywhere. My favorite part of it (while trying to find the silver lining). I at least got my server to stick her finger in my popsicle rice. I really hate leaving bad reviews. But please, do yourself a favor… Cook a roadkill skunk over coming to this place. You will be happier with that choice, I can promise you.

Under new management. Sam and Gio are the best! Tacos and Margs are the best. And one of the best patio views in Tucson.

First time eating here on 04/16/22. The food was great! Half off appetizers every day from 4 to 6. The service was mediocre at best. Our server seemed like he is new at customer service or was not trained very well.

Friendly service, a pleasant quaint ambience , very tasty food with a slight twist on traditional Mexican cuisine . A little pricey for the portion size . For instance $ 12.00 for three mixed small taco’s that come with no sides.

Delicious food, great service, and scenic views. I understand there’s a new chef, so I can’t speak to the changes before and after. I just know it’s more than I expected from a hotel resturant. Servers visited frequently, helpful with the menu for a first time visit, and helpful with tips for the area overall. Local and macro beer on tap, but not a huge selection as the focus is tequila. I had an amazing Kah tequila on the rocks, totally smooth and velvety. We split a juicy burger, (which was split!) tacos, and guac, all delicious and in heaping servings. Would highly suggest to fellow travelers!

Poor bartender was the only one there so we took that into consideration. The bar was still your up from the 40th reunion the night before. Thankfully the cooks were there. He worked hard for the many people in there. The shrimp chicharron is amazing! Our main courses were tasty but not great. Overall, it was a nice evening. I give the bartender 5 stars, he worked so hard.
