The food was good. Enjoyed the bao and some egg rolls and my hubby enjoyed the pho. Nice and clean. Prices vary but Cali prices.

Customer service here was so bad. We came in to try their chicken wings. To start off the chicken was raw, if you look at the pictures you can see how soggy and uncooked it was . We complained to the waitress and they tried to say it wasnt uncooked lol you can CLEARLY see it. Not only is it super dangerous to eat uncooked food like that but to try to turn it on us like we’re lying was just terrible . Will never return to this place nor would I recommend it .

Great Vietamese Restaurant with a modern clean flavor profile. The food is not too greasy across their entire menu from appetizers to entrees Pho Play offers wonderful chicken and beef broth this and fabulous rice and vermicelli bowls. Our family favorites are the chicken pho with veggies and pork chop over rice. The service is also friendly and welcoming.

Past couple times, I’ve gone
For lunch at 11:11am. You order first and sit afterward. Ordered shrimp spring rolls , the Pho Play, and a Thia tea with boba. All great picks flavor wise. My spring rolls were fresh & delicious. I add some chill oil/sauce to the peanut sauce. For sweet hotness dipping sauce. Man, the Thia tea was perfect. The mason jar is different compared to the usual sealed plastic cup. But it’s still satisfying to mix. And for the main event, the Pho Play. Alot of meat. The broth is different in the top 10, maybe top 3, tbh. And friendly service and a kind smile go a long way for me. 100% going back and taking my friends.

I came in with my buddy for the pho challenge and both meat and noodles were supposed to be the same amount. But I tell you that my bowl was mostly noodles and barely any meat. I say if you want to do the pho challenge to not do it because they will finesse you with it but overall the pho was good. It was my second time doing the pho challenge. Idk but my first time doing it I had way more meat than my second time doing it.

Have been coming here for years, customer service has plummeted. Food quality and amount has decreased. Prices are extremely expensive for what you get.

Ownership has become complacent, bring back what it use to be! First with a different host, better to use a self service kiosk!

The pork Banh Mi is wonderful. With just the right amount of sweetness, heat, and crunch this is a sandwich to savor. The sandwich is big enough for 2 people, the picture I posted is half the sandwich. If you’re looking for something interesting to eat in Castro Valley Pho Play is a good choice.

I was a customer at this restaurant for the first time today and saw the good reviews so I decided to try it. The experience I had was different than I expected, I will admit. I’ll be forward and just say that the food is super, very salty. I really didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. Even after trying to drown out the taste with a drink or sauce I had gotten, it was just still too salty. People who like salty food, this place is for you. But people who like decent, not excessively salty food such as I, I’d suggest you don’t waste your time or money here. The customer service was so bad, some workers better than others and they didn’t bother showing up to check on us, but that isn’t even the worst problem here. Anyways, the ambiance was cozy, though the music was just a too loud to try and focus on actually enjoying the food. I probably sound like I’m complaining too much, but honestly, I’ve never left a review as bad as this one. This place SUCKS.

I absolutely love Pho Play! Their Pho is amazing, the Boba Matcha is my favorite, and the spring rolls are always fresh and delicious. Everything I’ve tried has been fantastic, highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, flavorful Vietnamese food!

I ordered a Banh Mi sandwich. It was tasty, but the bread/roll was kind of soft and chewy. The roll should be light crisp crunchy. It should be a French roll. I’ve ordered this several times and it’s the same each time. Looking for another restaurant with a better Banh Mi.
