Authentic Indian Street Food Spice Waala aims to take Indians on a nostalgic journey back home while simultaneously introducing non-Indians to the multitude of authentic Indian flavors. Spice Waala serves kathi rolls which are flavorfully spiced proteins (chicken, lamb, potato, cheese) garnished with our signature green chutney, and wrapped in thin roti (Indian bread). The combination delivers a burst of authentic Indian flavors in your mouth that’ll leave you begging for more. Additionally, we serve a variety of other items like mango lassi, chai and other side items like chaat. Spice Waala is a social impact organization that pays living wage, invests in our employees, and works towards community empowerment and food justice.

Wonderful food! The flavors and textures were wonderful. Very vibrant spices and savory meats. Really enjoyed the lamb and the tikka chicken wraps. The chaat were tasty. Service was fine for a counter order and pickup. Nice for takeout or a casual meal. I liked the chai but I would have liked it a little sweeter. Will be back.

We went for some evening snack and got chicken tikka roll, chai, kids and roll. The chicken Tikka roll was very good, protein to carb ratio was good and overall tasted very well. Definitely recommend it. I got a second one and this time I made it Kolkata style. A minor nuance, kati roll is never made with roti but with paratha. Other than that the roll was very tasty and I think the roti may be makes it slightly healthier. Either way, I liked the flavors and it was pretty good.

I’d advise you check hours and give them some extra time- sometimes. You’ll love take-out (easiest) or the dine in option, if you’re ok with limited seating and casual atmosphere (but very cute and hip). Staff are friendly. Watch out for lunch rush.

It’s sadly right next to an apartments (?) construction site, but the workers at this site are professional, so once its done I’m sure this will help boost Spice Wallah and their neighbor, Pink Bees (excellent Thai food) next door.

Best Indian food in Seattle hands down. The flavors are fresh, the food affordable, and the staff are great. Not only that, they are small business owners who truly care for their community and are transparent with their pricing and business operations. (City council should pay attention!!)

Spice Waala has been our weekend staple for the last 2 years. I never had a chance to review it before although I come here often.
What we ordered – Masala Aloo, Lamb Kebab roll, Chicken tikka roll
What we think – The chicken and lamb were so tender and well marinated. The masala aloo was delicious as always – tangy and spicy. They focus on consistency- and having a small menu – qualities which I highly desire at any restaurant. They also have monthly specials and you will get notified on your email during Indian festivals – highly recommended to taste the full breadth of Indian cuisine. I hope for their continued success and hope they expand in the Puget sound.

Usually with Indian restaurants and eating joints my experience hasn’t been that great anywhere in US because they cannot recreate that magic what we get in India. But this place stood beyond my expectations in taste and I can say they give some of the best Indian Kathi rolls. We got our order a little late and the staff for so nice in offering us a free mango lassi as a courtesy. Must go place for their awesome Indian street food.

TLDR; Some things on the menu are authentic, others are not.
We stopped by for a quick bite and overall I was left disappointed but my husband really liked his chicken kathi roll. The paneer one I ordered was just weird all around – texture, flavor.
For the price however, this place is a good deal!
