This was my first visit but won’t be my last. Went alone and sat at the bar.
Food: I had 6 of the fresh rolls and it of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The rainbow roll was absolutely amazing (my go-to roll). The prices are very reasonable: Specialty rolls are $10-12, and the basic rolls are 2 for $10. Most places in the area are charging $14-$21 for a specialty roll. The size of roll was perfect, not too big not too small and so much flavor in each bite. None of my rolls fell apart, just all around quality. The owner is from Korea so I’m disappointed I did not try the Korean specialties, but ordered Bibimbab to go. She recommended a few dishes for next time.
Atmosphere: People keep describing it as a “hole in the wall,” I disagree and describe it as “cozy.” It’s like you’re sitting in the owners living room watching Tv and eating. It may not be everyone’s vibe… but their right people appreciate it. Maybe not the place for a first date high school date, but two degenerates, absolutely.
Service: My service was fantastic. There was two people working, I believe they are both owners. The one that made my rolls brought them over with a smile, so nice. They are very kind and easy to talk to. I do not enjoy most people but I enjoyed their company. I read some of the negative reviews and don’t listen to them, they are incorrect. The owners are laid back, hard working and they might not tolerate Karen’s. ♀️ is what it is. They’ll tell you like it is and I’m here for it.

I really did like this place! The food was great service was so good as well. When you walk in you get an old vibe -like maybe this an establishment was built in the the 70s or 80’s; but it is definitely a place my husband and I will return to. -hopefully a couple times a month

I went here for dinner around 7 PM with my friend. We ordered sushi and galbi (kbbq ribs) for dinner. The food was nicely seasoned, and the portions of the galbi was good! The dinner galbi comes with rice, miso tofu soup, house salad, and two banchan – kimchi and seasoned cucumbers. It looked like there was only one server, but he did a great job making sure all the tables had everything they needed and checked up on us frequently! We didn’t wait long for our food to come out at all, and for a KBBQ/sushi restaurant, it was pretty good. I would definitely come back.

So upon my arrival, I immediately knew i was in for an authentic experience with a hint of hometown chicago style thrown into the mix. No frills, no thrills, just good food and friendly owners. The salmon was fresh and delicious. The Udon noodle bowl was just what the soul needed. And thier special sauce, that they put on some of their signatures rolls, tasted like a mix of honey, maple syrup, and eel sauce. Oh man was it good! Will be back next time I’m in town!

My boyfriend and I are big on sushi. Unfortunately my first time visiting was not the best. I did order for take out and my avocado roll was mainly rice and seaweed wrap and one tiny size of avocado and Our spicy salmon was a foul metalic taste.I am unsure if I would be visiting again or if this was a fluke. But my boyfriend and I were not happy about the presentation. We just thought to try something local.
