The issue not that they are bad but that they are comicaly bad. To begin they told me it would take 35 minutes for delivery, it took actually about an hour. The food was cold. It was packed sideways instead of just stacking it on top of each other so it doesn’t shift. The general tso chicken, they did not even bother adding the sauce so it was just deep fried chicken. The bourbon chicken was overcooked (I think) it was like eating rubber.
The driver, by the way, was rude, but it could be because he doesn’t speak English. I said hello, he didn’t reply and just stuck his hand out for the money. I gave it to him and he counted it before giving me the food. Then turned around and just left. No thank you for the tip, no “enjoy”, just left. It’s just comically bad.

Have been a loyal customer for over 10 years , have never ordered anywhere else until today. I don’t know if the kids are grown now ( the girl sounded around her 20’s) and helping the family business but was super rude.She was sarcastic and snappy. They just lost a loyal large order customer.

They’re really good Chinese food here. It’s probably the best Chinese food anywhere in Hartford. The fried gizzards however are lukewarm and too chewy.
The service is good and the place seems clean plus good atmosphere. I like New China up in Monson, Mass. better for high quality Chinese food (seems more delicious!).
Worth having Chinese food here if you live in the greater Hartford area (or around Hartford).

I ordered Shrimp and Broccoli combo last Friday and I was charged double and was given double than what I had ordered. The food was delicious by the way. But then, The woman on the phone line was very compassionate, not only was I given a refund for an order placed out of human error, but she allowed me to keep the food as well on top of the food I already ordered. ❤️ that sincerely moved my heart. Please show them more love. They’re doing their best.

I order food from here at least once every two weeks and everything from the BBQ spare ribs (tips, ribs and boneless), the fried rice, chicken wings, General tso chicken, etc… are amazing! I enjoy cooking chinese cuisine at home myself but I still go out of my way to order here. Obviously, it’s take-out so its not going to be as good as traditional chinese but its basically at that level. They treat everyone with kindness and are easy going people. With my experience, this is always a go-to joint to get takeout.

My friend and I ordered food, and it was terrible. The lo mein had no flavor at all; the beef teriyaki did not taste good, and the chicken fried rice and bourbon chicken also were not good. The delivery guy made me walk out to his car in the cold instead of coming to my door, and after I paid, hesitated to give me my food. When I reached for the bag that was on his car seat thinking it was mine, he grabbed it back then finally gave me my food. Poor food and service, not ordering here again.

If you’re looking for Chinese food in or around the South End, you have a bunch of options. I’ve tested ’em all out over the years so you don’t have to — Fung is the winner, hands down.
Not sure about some of these 1-star reviews, but if your throat hurts afterward like apparently happened to one reviewer, you either gotta let it cool down before you stuff it down there, or otherwise you maybe have to examine what else you might be doing to abuse your throat… hey, no judgment.
I’ve peeped the kitchen — flawlessly clean. I’ve ordered from here probably close to a hundred times throughout the years — always felt like a million bucks afterward. Could the fried rice have a little more pizzazz? Maybe, but I think of it as a canvas on which to display the real art, like that transcendent Bourbon Chicken or the Broccoli with Garlic Sauce.
It’s not easy to do the type of volume this spot does and keep the oil clean and at the right temp, and yet every morsel of crispy fried goodness that ever started in that kitchen and ended up in my face hole has been *perfect*.
Oh, and in order to guarantee the best delivery experience, be a G and meet them outside (they’re grinding for us out here), and don’t reach for other people’s food off your delivery driver’s passenger seat (that’s kind of insane ngl).
