Normally a great place to go for a burger. And service is typically consistently good. Tonight was a big departure. We ordered 2 drinks, a hamburger, cheese burger and a large sweet potato fry. When the food came out, they gave us regular fries instead of sweet potato. When I told her that the order was wrong and that we had ordered a large sweet potato fry, she said I only heard “large fry” but acknowledged that we had been debating beteeen a small and large sweet potato fry. She didn’t offer to make it right or even apologize for getting the order wrong. Very disappointing

I am very disappointed and embarrassed with the To Go food order from HiHo Ponchatoula this evening. I have bragged to many family and friends about the Pork PoBoys at this location. In the past, the Pork PoBoys had an impressive quantity pork meat with the same great flavor that I fell in love with as a child in the 60’s. However, tonight the Pork PoBoys were a disappointment. One Pork PoBoy had less and half the meat than any previous sandwich. The second Pork PoBoys had very little meat on one half and only sauce on the second half. We walked into the location at 5:30pm and I initially thought that they ran out of pork meat. However, I see that their closing hour is 8:00pm. I doubt I will return to HiHo Ponchatoula.

Not sure why they call themselves bbq. Only bbq on the menu was a few sandwiches. Im not from here. Must be a local place. Kind of reminds me of a jack in the box type of place. Frozen fries. Frozen burger patties with no seasoning. Just bland. Nothing to differentiate themselves from the other 10 places all around them. Relatively nice kids at the counter. Usually an empty parking lot tells you all you need to know. Id rather have my $20 back but I did eat it.

This was a boring trip and not very appetizing. The highlight was the BBQ baked beans with pork shreds. The ribs were good, well ok. They seemed to be cooked in a pressure cooker then maybe warmed. The seasoning was not very good and came with one BBQ sauce on the side… bullseye. The onion rings were frozen and deep fried and kinda greasy. My sidekick had the pulled pork sandwich with cold slaw on it and was given a 7 out of 10. Bread pudding is the only option. The staff was nice. I will not be back.

I have to say I was very impressed with this business food. Looking at it you wouldn’t think much but wow they got some good eatin here. The best places and food usually are this way.
The potato salad was off the hook. You read that right. It’s the best sweet tasting potato salad I have had in years. If you like sweet pickles and flavor potato salad this is it right here.
Next, I tried the Coleslaw. I took one bite and a big smile came on my face. Why? It was the best sweet tasting Coleslaw I’ve ever had. Yes sweet tasting Coleslaw right here.
After that I tried the baked beans. These are not just any baked beans no sir. There was beef, beans, bbq sauce, and sweet taste in my mouth busting with flavor. I was like wow! That is legit right there. I loved every single bit of it and wanted more.
I still had the grilled chicken left that they made sure I had no cross contamination on the grill for my allergy. It was grilled to perfection and the bbq sauce was a nice touch.
They are also have chicken fries. Yes you read that correctly. If they were not out of them I definitely would have tried them.
As you can see loved the food and experience at HI Ho #2 and highly recommended them if you live in town or just passing through like me.
Tell them I sent you they will appreciate it.

Very disappointed I was actually very excited to try the restaurant Drove from marpause to get the food got back home and was missing the sausage out of my plate and not only that everything was plain and barley had taste unless I added the bbq sauce that they provided on the side the best thing was the potatoe salad very confused as to why the sliced beef had no flavor the ribs weren’t bad but weren’t the best wish my experience wouldn’t been different especially since the workers were so nice ! 🙁 being the fact I was an hour away and couldn’t drive back they wouldn’t refund me so now I have to drive an hour back tmr… it may just seem like a price of sausage or bland food but driving an hour and missing food and having highly bland food is unacceptable like I said in the beginning I was very excited and wound up very let down !:(

Our first visit here and the staff was very welcoming when we walked in. They were very patient and took the time to explain to us the answers to our questions in regards to the menu items . The bread pudding recommendation was truly the BEST for me ! It was DELICIOUS ! The pricing was very affordable and the food quality was fresh and yummie

I’m not sure what was worse the service or the food. I arrived at the end of the night, I wanted my food to go and the door was unlocked; the staff made it very clear that they didn’t want to take my order. I got the BBQ beef and my stomach expressed it’s dislike for the rest of the night.
