Lunch there today (10/1/25). The lamb kebab was tender & delicious. Their pilaf was the best I’ve had anywhere. The tziki was light & fresh. The other person in the party had the Italian sub. This had plenty of meat and the roll was fresh and tasty.
The have several imported beers that you don’t normally see in restaurants. I drank an Almaza from Lebanon, which I’d order again.
We were told that they have belly dancing on weekends but I don’t know what times.
I’d definitely eat here again. The menu choices all look good. Lunch prices are typically $10-20.
The menu on this site is accurate regarding food choices but the prices are higher.
Service was great. Eulia (probably spelling it wrong) was super sweet and helpful.
The food was awesome!
We tried Dolmas (excellent with the Tzatziki), Stuffed Cabbage (very tasty!) and Pita slices with Hummus (best hummus I have ever tasted).
I ordered the Falafel Plate with Roasted Potatoes. The falafel was good but the potatoes were the best.
For dessert, I ordered the Mediterraneo Rice Pudding. It was excellent. Not too sweet and very creamy. I also tried the Baklava. It was perfect!
The only thing that I would have preferred is the music to not be as loud. I couldn’t hear my friends very well and felt like I was talking very loudly. The belly dancer was cool too
Everything here is good but, my favorite is the gyro plate with the greek salad on the side. My husband loves their baklava. Sometimes I come here for a quick Hummus and bread snack with a friend.
Second visit delighted to find live music! Later fun with a visit from a belly dancer! A little loud for us old folks, but a lot of fun. Shrimp Pasta, Grilled Chicken Spicy Vodka Pasta, and Tuna Salad! Listening to Mickey Hobbs
I told waitress, I was gluten free. I have celiac. When the waitress asked about bread, I had an intense, very clear conversation about my gluten allergy. I explicitly said I cannot eat gluten, that I will get very sick, and that I did not even want bread touching my food. I declined bread entirely for that reason. This was not casual or vague, it was crystal clear.
Despite all of that, my meal arrived with gluten-containing noodles mixed directly into my rice pilaf. I didn’t notice until I ingested half. I thought it was saffron not noodles and noticed way too late!
This is beyond unacceptable. Ignoring a clearly stated gluten allergy is not a “mistake” it is dangerous negligence. Because of this, I will now be dealing with severe symptoms that can last a full week, including pain, digestive distress, and achy joints and brain fog. That is not just an inconvenience, it is physically debilitating.
You ruined my holiday, put my health at risk, and demonstrated a complete lack of care or training around food allergies. Anyone with celiac disease or a gluten allergy should stay far away from this place until staff are properly trained and management takes accountability.
The ambiance of Mediterraneo Market and Cafe is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place for a casual meal with friends or family.
With reasonable prices and good value for the food, Mediterranean Market and Cafe stands out as a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists looking for a taste of the Mediterranean in Texas.
