This was the perfect stop on our road trip when we wanted something better than fast food. Just two minutes off the highway in beautiful downtown Kingston, this bakery was exactly what we needed.
From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. Even the customers were happy to offer recommendations and couldn’t stop raving about the food. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and inviting.
We ordered the tuna melt, kale salad, banana bread, banana pudding, a peppermint mocha, and a chocolate chip cookie. The tuna melt was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the salad dressing paired perfectly with the kale, cabbage, walnuts, and dried cranberries. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and made with care.
The coffee was outstanding. I honestly wish I could stop by every day just for that.
Every dessert tasted even better than it looked.
Skip the chains and support a local business instead. Stop in, you won’t regret it.

Gail took me here for my birthday lunch. Our meal was served on real china! Nice not to have to deal with cheap paper. It would make a nice place for a small event lunch such as a bridesmaid lunch. Lots of natural light without having to squint your eyes. And the Grilled 3 Cheese sandwiches were wonderful!

Stopped in on 2/5. Purchased one of every cookie they had and took them home to the family. Wife said the pecan cookie was the best cookie she ever had. Daughter said the gingerbread cookie was the best she ever had. I had the chocolate chip cookie and the oreo cookie, both were outstanding. Very very good cookies. Cookies are my favorite desert, and yes, good cookies are really hard to find. Plan to stop in every time I am in Kingston. Nice little shop.

We came here to try out the bakery and decided to eat in. We ordered the Apple bank and Panini the soup of the day and my husband got the tuna and pimento cheese sandwich. We also got the homemade cookies and the croissant and let me tell you. You can tell everything is freshly made when you bite into it. The ladies here are so sweet and so kind and have good recommendations. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

This is a gem in Kingston! We’ve been several times and have enjoyed everything. The pastries, salads, coffees and those orange bars! Yum! My kids can barely finish their cake slices they are so big. I’m so happy they added an espresso machine and have specialty drinks now. That was so smart! I’m glad they are offering more savory options for breakfast too. I don’t have a sweet tooth in the morning so I definitely appreciate that! We love coming here. The portions are big, employees are so kind and the atmosphere is welcoming and spacious! Ordered a custom Carrot cake for a Birthday party and I have to say, it was the best carrot cake I’ve ever had! Extremely moist and fluffy, the cream cheese icing was divine! 10/10!

This morning I stopped by Bettye Rose Bakery to get a sausage, egg and cheese casserole and a cherry turnover and a cup of coffee. They were all so delicious! The entire meal was well worth the drive! I have tried their lunches and some of the desserts in past, and they are all so delicious! I cannot recommend Bettye Rose Bakery enough! All of their food is amazing! The food comes from local farmers and is always so fresh!
