Good food but horrible service.
Very unfriendly staff, from the moment we entered we encountered angry face of the waitress who demanded we changed the table as it was ” too big for you”, even though restaurant was completely empty. She even grabbed and removed plates and chopsticks. We were too tired after spending all day helping family member in the hospital and didn’t want to drive to different restaurant, so we stayed.
Food was good. At the end she made a disgusted face when we asked for boxes to pack out leftovers. And furthermore, after getting our payment and generous tip, she refused to give us receipt.
BIZARRE experience.
Not judgemental, Just my opinion

This place is the best dim sum restaurant in the area as a NYC born and raised ABC and I’ve tried them all in the area. It’s this one that hits close to home. Iykyk.
The spare ribs is just so deliciously tender and that fried taro balls just hits that umami taste that I grew up with. The only thing I don’t recommend is their baos.
Service can be kinda slow but hey you work with what you can get in this neighborhood.

SIlver fountain was my go to for DimSum in last 15 years. I (Asian F) was there with few of my friends( 2 Asians F & 2 White F) on Saturday at 1pm reservation. For the first time, I was surprise to see only 6-7 tables occupied. We were seated inside table in the dark, while there were emptied tables by the window.
We were waiting for late friends and looking out. Finally, I asked to be switched to the window table to look out for them. We left at 3pm and only 2-3 more tables were occupied. Less crowd due to windy day or Superbowl Sunday?
Food were good as always.
The customer service needs to be improved. Staff came back with my paid bill and told me in Chinese that my 10% tip was not acceptable. I added more. I look Chinese but was born in non-chinese country and live in US since young. We have been communicated with staff in English during service.
Due to the less crowd, we have to wave the staff for attention.
If SF requires 18% tip, should list in the receipt and not the staff came back and told me in Chinese.
There are few other DimSum around here and I’ll be trying them now.

The dim sum was really good overall. We had some dishes we preferred over others but nothing was bad. The service was a little challenging because we were there at the shift change but overall it was good. I’m really glad we went at a time when it wasn’t busy.

The place was packed! We had a table for 9 and sat 11, as two were lap babies.
We ordered about 11 dishes and all were fantastic. I had the baby in my lap so couldn’t take photos of everything.
But recommend the crab, anything with shrimp in it and the pork bun. Will be back.

Dim sum dishes are delicious as always. We have been come here for dim sum for over 20 years. However, it seems like they are short of staffs today. When we asked for adding hot water to our tea pot the service person said that she doesn’t have time to do it. We didn’t get angry but we felt so funny. We still paid 20% tips just for supporting the business. Hopefully they hire more staffs and improve the service.

We know that authentic dim sum restaurants are not known for good service. In fact its well known that the ruder the service, the better the food among dim sum circles. However there is a tipping point in this theory, and we finally reached it today. We patiently waited for over 30 minutes at our table with no food carts in sight, no water, no tea, nothing except garbage carts flying by. We just sat there and considered getting up and leaving on 16 June Father’s Day 2024. We had to get up and ask for water at least 5 times, from one of the servers who always succeededin failing to bring us water, tea, or even call a food cart lady over. When I brought the issue to the attention of management, The Boss Lady in the green shirt was completely unapologetic with her “sorry(not sorry)”. We highly suspect that they ran out of food.
The dim sum was mushy, not the best but tolerable. Char siu bao meat wasnt great quality, while the bun was good, it was soggy from being oversteamed. The Shrimp Har Gau was decent, but wasn’t enjoyable because we had no water to drink with it. The Pork Hash wasn’t bad, but oversalted and other places do it better. The Jin dui was almost pure mochi and had little, if any bean paste. They were also the smallest Jin Dui I’ve yet seen without being micro Jin Dui.
We won’t be coming back given other choices in the area. The below pic of a plate and no water was my view for 30 minutes while we just sat there. However, when it came time for them to collect their money, they were quick to do that.

Very much enjoyed the dim sum at Silver Fountain. It has everything you expect for a dim sum restaurant. Came here twice. Once during the weekend and once during the weekday.
Push carts on weekends.
Mostly everything we ordered was surprisingly $4.95 or less per dish.
Just a wonderful place to go for Dim Sum.
Enjoy!

The worst restaurant since ownership changed. I don’t expect much when it comes to service at most Chinese restaurants and I’m used to it being Asian and eating in these place my whole life but this place sets a new low. They’re rude, slow, and don’t give a damn about the customer. Nobody brings you water unless you ask and then you have to find the water pitcher on your own for refills. We waited an hour for a dish that never came. Nobody cared to check on our order. I won’t be back.

My family and I went to celebrate my dad’s birthday. The service was okay, but the food seemed reheated. We were still happy to spend time together as a family. However, around 11 PM, my dad began experiencing severe abdominal pain and had to be rushed to the ER. He was hospitalized for several days and is still in a lot of pain. The food caused him to have gallbladder issues, which he has never had before. We realized it was the food because around the same time, I also began feeling a rapid heartbeat and felt like I was going to faint — the only thing out of the ordinary that day was the meal we ate.
Please be more careful.
