Totally ready to give 3 or 4 stars today based on what I’ve heard, but the Wood-n-Tap didn’t disappoint. Coming in Wednesday evening at 530, the parking lot was pretty full, but our party of 5 had zero wait!

I heard some rough stuff about the menu, but we took a lot of risks anyway. My party ordered the Thai salad (that was great), the steak salad (wonderful), shortrib grilled cheese (not out with the rest, but shortly after and delicious), bacon burger (perfectly cooked medium only a little weird with shredded vice sliced cheese), kids pasta with marinara sauce (a little peppery if you have picky kids). All the food exceeded expectations!

Our server Jessica did a great job keeping up with us and was engaging with the kiddos. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

We arrived New Year’s Eve 6:30. Friendly staff and promptly seated! Abby was awesome and Manager Ben stopped to say hello! Calamari was good and the winter beet salad was so tasty. Had the comfort grilled cheese and tomato soup and my wife had the fish-n-chips! Job well done!

TLDR, Read the recent reviews first. The 1 and 2 stars don’t lie.

Showed up just before 5pm, and while we were seated immediately by the most ditsy hostess, we waited 20 minutes before even getting a drink order in. We got a waitress who seemed very short and did not seem like she wanted to be here. We ordered the mojito and mango maitai. Both were lacking any alcohol taste.

We got our appetizer 20min later and we got the nachos. They tasted like some white dude chose the ingredients from WalMart and microwaved them on the plate. This can be confirmed with the cheese that was on there that looked like it. All of this tasted bland as heck and we ate through it to get something down.

We are now sitting close to an hour and a half after arriving and we still have not received our entrées. If you’re considering coming here, don’t. First and last time here!

Edit: Updating to 2 stars because the manager gave us a good discount.

Disappointed, walked in nd they just looked at me for a sold minute before speaking. The drinks were ok. The food not so much. Ordered the salmon blackened and it was over cooked the bottom totally burnt , as well as the risotto overcooked and flavorless l. Asparagus had a nice taste but was cold. Too hungry to send it back and wait another 20-30 minutes.

My girlfriend Karina and I had an amazing time at Wood-n-Tap in Groton. We sat at the bar and were lucky to have Jason as our bartender and server—he was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.

We started with an appetizer and then went all in with two entrees, each coming with two sides, so we got to try four different sides total. Every bite was flavorful and fresh. The food came out hot and perfectly timed, and Jason made sure our drinks stayed full and we were happy the entire time.

The vibe at the bar was fun and relaxed—great for date night or just grabbing a solid meal. Highly recommend this location, and big shoutout again to Jason for the excellent service!

Went to the new Wood -n- Tap in Groton opening day. Got seated within 20 minutes, service and food was phenomenal from start to finish. Because of that, we returned last night. They were extremely crowded, said the wait would be about 35 to 45 minutes. We had no problem with that and waited for about only 30 minutes. The service was again incredible, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. When we got our food, we were a bit taken aback. I got the bacon burger and my husband got the fish and chips. Or should I say massive amount of chips with tiny pieces of fish. The portions of the fish were smaller than Tyson chicken strips. As you can see by the juxtaposition of the pieces next to the tartar sauce, and the fork next to one of the pieces, we couldn’t believe that this is a normal portion. It literally took 4 bites for him to finish the fish, that were a child sized portion at best. Ge asked if I wanted to try a bite, saying the texture was rubbery and hard to chew, but I declined because it would have lessened the tiny portion even more. Thankfully they overwhelmed the plate with fries otherwise he would have had what amounted to an appetizer bite with nothing else to eat. We will most likely return because the place is great, so is the food and service, but they missed the mark on this dish and won’t ever order the fish and chips again.

Service was stellar from the moment we arrived. We had cocktails, appetizer and dessert.
The nachos were crisp, skimpy one the beef and beans. We had asked for no jalapenos, sadly they were on every layer . The drinks were refreshing and the donut cheesecake was delicious.
We will come back.

Nice atmosphere but it stops there. The food took forever to come out and when it did it was bland. I had the bison bites and they came out looking like bloody gray spam… it was a true mystery meat…think McRib but worse. My son’s chicken tenders also had grey patches in the batter.

We have been coming here since they opened. Have probably been around 15-20 times. Great atmosphere. The service is hit or miss, but usually not great. The food is the same. Some things are great (French dip), some are okay (burgers), some are bland(dirty chicken). Sometimes the okay service makes the okay food slightly warmer than your mouth, making it less okay. The staff is very friendly though and it’s convenient so we keep going back. The last trip, the creamy horseradish on the French dip smelled spoiled and tasted terrible. They took it back and we waited another 15 minutes for a salad with no meat on it. We may just go to Applebee’s next time. Recommend you try it for yourself if you haven’t been.
The pic is the steak rice bowl. It would have been good if it wasn’t cold.
