Do you like good beer? Do you like friendly people? Do you like live music and trivia? Do you like comfortable, covered, heated/cooled outdoor seating? Do you like quality, delicious bar food? OF COURSE YOU DO! That’s why the Thirsty Pig (“The Pig” to locals) is a must-visit when you’re in Dothan. Plenty of close parking, awesome people and really chill vibes. Pet friendly! Love the Pig and the Pig will love you! No visit to Dothan is complete without a stop at the Thirsty Pig!

Awesome tap room! The ladies are super knowledgeable and offered a tasting of what is now one of my favorite brews! Trivia here is a blast, get there early though because the place fills up fast! Absolutely love the vibe, this is a great place to hang out and everyone is always super nice and chill.

The craft beer selections here are outstanding. The barbecue is excellent. The flavor combinations are awesome. I had the pulled pork Tacos. The balance between the sweet and tangy, the mild heat, and the texture was perfect. They have hard Ciders on tap. They have many wine selections as well. If your in town, and enjoy barbecue, do yourself a favor and stop in.

Thirsty Pig is one of those rare spots where everything just works. They carry 14 craft beers on tap, rotate their menu often, and pair that with quality BBQ from the food truck. I tried their brisket sandwich and the loaded nachos, and both were flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. The beer selection is solid, the service is friendly and chill, and the vibe feels right for a night out with friends. Whether you’re into craft beer, BBQ, or just good local spots, Thirsty Pig delivers without the hype. Highly recommend.

Awesome staff and rotating tap selection. Also love building my own six pack of craft beers from the fridge. They allow pets too and have plenty of events like weekly trivia and live music to bring the community together. Definitely a downtown staple!

Thirsty Pig Craft Beer Taproom is a fantastic spot tucked away in downtown Dothan. It’s run by a husband-and-wife team, and you can feel that personal touch in the atmosphere and service. While it’s not a traditional bar, the taproom offers a great selection of craft beers—including a variety of IPAs and other brews—along with wine options. Whether you’re into bold hops or something a little smoother, there’s something for everyone.

The newly remodeled back area is a highlight. It’s fully covered, with plenty of fans to keep things cool (and heaters for the colder months), plus enough space to comfortably host live bands. It really strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and lively. The whole space is welcoming and family-friendly, which isn’t something you find often at places serving alcohol.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable—ready to offer suggestions without being overbearing. I didn’t try the food this time, so I left that rating blank, but everything else about the visit made it a really enjoyable experience.

The only minor downside is the 9 PM closing time, but given the laid-back vibe and smaller food selection, it honestly makes sense. This isn’t a late-night bar scene—it’s a well-kept, community-oriented spot to unwind with good drinks, good people, and great atmosphere.

Highly recommend it if you’re in the area and looking for a place to relax without the chaos.
