Our first visit to the Oak was just simply amazing. Rich the owner greeted us immediately like family. It was truly a wonderful experience. The food was so delicious. Sylvia treated and served us like we knew her forever. Anna made us some delicious martinis. It was so nice to sit and enjoy our dinner. We cannot wait to go back You must go !!!

If you are ever in the area, please stop in. The food is delicious, the folks are great, and the whiskey is perfect! They do their own barrel picks! And plenty of beer to select from too.

Place is very nice and atmosphere. Good quality food. Not quite my taste but I’ll still give it 5 stars. On the expensive side though. We had the enchiladas and risotto.

The restaurant was solid and has a variety of food options. You won’t be blown away but also not disappointed. A notable item was the fried pickles, which was unique. I ordered a white wine but came in a smaller glass compared to the other customers in the dining room. It was a considerably smaller pour that others around me and I was confused why they didn’t serve it in a wine glass. Aside from that, the service was great for our larger group. Overall, this place is a safe pick if you’re going for conversation first, food second 🙂

I went to this place a year ago and the stark contrast is great. A year ago my wife and I had the Risotto and a Burger and it was amazing. Fast forward to this day it takes almost 15 minutes for a drink order to arrive at the table, a Guinness and Wine, by the time we get our drinks we’re ready to order for the table. Before our appetizer arrived (the sliders) I had finished my drink and wasn’t offered another until shortly before I got my main course. Additionally I finished my 2nd drink and had to ask a busser for a 3rd since our server was consistently MIA. The food today vs. a year ago was very different. The burger was mediocre and something I would expect from a Red Robin and the filet mignon ($45) tasted like a combo steak and shrimp ribeye at the local Texas roadhouse. The service was horrible, the food was mediocre, and the price for 3 beers, 1 wine, a kids grilled cheese, chocolate milk, 2 sodas, and a glass of wine being $160.00 was horrendous. Ask me a year ago if I think for roughly the same thing if the price was fair I would say absolutely. This place has gone downhill and would reccomend other upscale restaurants nearby for the price, I.e. the Yard house.

Kim and Anna behind the bar are amazing people. Food is great and the variety of Burbons and Whiskeys is fabulous. Great place for a drink or a full meal.

Toyed with giving four stars but only because there’s no online reservations system which seems antiquated in 2023. We booked a reservation for my husband’s birthday on the phone but when we arrived, they were just using a paper and pen calendar and had no record of our reservation. Luckily, they were able to seat us within five mins at a lovely high top by the windows so it all worked out and thus, the five stars.
After the initial minor issue, everything was perfect. Our server was efficient and cheerful. Our drinks came fast and we’re delicious. Husband had an old fashioned and I had a rye Manhattan which was amazing. Had considered a beer and they had a large selection (probably 20 on tap) but as it was a celebration, and we love bourbon, we got the cocktails.
We started with salads (crisp and refreshing) which appropriately came first, and then had entrees. My husband made several alterations to his meal and they all came out exactly correctly. He had the cheeseburger but with turkey instead of beef, and no bacon. It was moist and flavorful. Fries are crinkle fries – crispy goodness. I had the chicken dinner which was cooked nicely with good flavor – slightly sweet but not overly. Coleslaw is thinner than some places which I found refreshing. Nice mashed potatoes. Good sized portion – took home half of it in the Tupperware I brought purposefully for it. We were too full for dessert so apologies but didn’t even see the dessert menu.
And the atmosphere is lovely – we love bourbon and wood so the decor was exactly what we like.
Can’t wait to be back and try other things.
