Perfectly quirky and delicious PDX experience. This spot, with its outrageously good pastries and lovely Biergarten, must be a hit in the summer time. Try the variety of almond pastries!

Food is 5/5
the pastries are delicious, the coffee is the sour kind.
Service was 3/5
it was a chill vibe, they were very pleasant, I just happened to come when it was busy
Atmosphere 4/5
because again it was busy, the inside is super cool and relaxing, the outside is pretty but also cold (because outside).
Is wheelchair accessible no steps anywhere. The door may be a bit on the snug side, if anyone was wondering about width.
A bit narrow toward the front pastry area.
So if you are the nervous sort, then stick to the left and take a breather.

Fressen’s pastries are amazing. The staff are also friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect. I love bring people here and trying all the different pastries.

Fressen has an amazing atmosphere. The coffee came out quickly and tasted great. The cappuccino art was not very pretty, but the it did taste great, and to me that’s what matters. My wife got an iced latte with hazelnut flavor added, and that was seriously delicious.

We split a breakfast bagel sandwich, which comes on a pretzel bagel. The honey mustard made the sandwich a little too sweet to me, but definitely a delicious sandwich.

They also have a lot of breads and pastries which all look amazing

How have I never been here before?! Authentic German baked goods. The pretzel sandwiches are legit. Can’t wait to make this a regular stop.

I’m new to Portland and this is my first time. My bagel was toasted perfectly. The vegetarian spread was fantastic. My coffee was very good.

Best espresso i have had in portland, paired with a beautiful take on german classic foods, and gorgeous baked goods. I had the Franzbrötchen, Nürnberger sausage sandwich, brezn and espresso, and all were top tier, 10/10 will return

I love German bakeries and wanted to try this for a very long time. They had good options for baked desserts and bread but the problem was there was too little of everything, and I went there at 10 am. The caramel apple cider was absolutely delicious. The pretzel itself was kinda dry and small, but the chive butter and Emmental cheese with it were nice. The service took really long, and it literally involved spreading some butter and placing slices of cheese on the pretzel. However, I would visit again if I happen to be in the area in the future.

For coffee it is just okay. I came here pre COVID and I remember it being one of the best lattes, but now when I went back it was not up to parr, especially for PDX. The pastry was good but others in the area are just as good (maybe better but I’d have to try more) but with better coffee. I’m hoping I’m wrong and maybe it was just an off day. I will try again and update accordingly.

One of the best bakeries in Portland serving a great
selection of German pastries and breads.

You will find a good selection
of pasteries, cakes and breads
with a variety of drinks.

It was hard to select a few items and I picked a Danish,
Nutella swirl, Franzbrot (cinnamon roll) and two
salted pretzels.

The Danish and the Nutella
Swirl were light and flaky
and not really sweet.

The Franzbrot, a German
Cinnamon Roll, had good
taste and was not too sweet.

The pretzels taste better
when you warm them up.

A brunch menu includes
quiche, toasts, bagel and
pretzel sandwiches.

Parking is limited to the
side streets.

Located on NE Glisan and
71st street.

Credit cards are accepted.

A great place to find German
pastries, cakes, and breads with friendly service and a brunch menu.
