Food is great! The wait for the food is not. The wait for a clean table is ridiculous or a clean spot at the bar. To have 1 bartender behind the counter at an international airport bar is crazy. The staff seems very slow moving. After sitting at messy table for 15-20 min I was seeing tables just sit around not getting cleaned off while people are waiting to be seated. Staff is very polite I will say that just need to be more motivated. People come here to grab a bite or a drink before a flight and having to wait the whole time to have to take the food to go or cancel the order isn’t very good service.

If you love sweet potato fries you must stop in and enjoy an order they have a dash of brown sugar and a little cinnamon on them. They taste fantastic. I also ordered wings however I ordered them naked because I like crispy wings vs soggy. My aunt ordered a burger and she said it’s delicious. Karley our server was kind quick and friendly

The shrimp appetizers were delicious. I had the fish tacos however I would’ve preferred a tartar sauce. But they were ok. The soup was also delicious!
It’s ironic the summary for the reviews state staff not so attentive. I walked in and there was two people seated. I sat for a few moments and noticed no acknowledgment. Then I saw another lady sit down and a waitress immediately went over to her. I the saw a waiter walk pass me three times, he held great conversation with some regulars and even if I’m not in either section a quick “mam have you been helped”. I waited and finally a waiter by the name of Riley C came out and provided excellent service. Before leaving he let me know he was leaving so I could pay and tip him generously. Riley obviously left and still no one even came to collect dishes and say is there anything you need. Although I haven’t been in the restaurant businesses for quite some time, I value great services because when I waitressed I wanted to treat people the exact same way I desired to be treated! Servers make a difference! Thank you again Riley.

My family lives in Florida and My husband and each time I leave from my vacation, we make a point to stop here for a beverage before we catch our plane back home. The service is usually varying, but I don’t think we’ve ever had bad service, so I was surprised that the rating for this place was so low.

My main reason for posting today is because of my awesome experience this past Sunday. I never travel on the holidays because I hate the line at security and this time it was extremely long. Because they only had two security machines open (out of 10, thanks to Tampa airport not planning ahead) we were in the security line for almost an hour. The longest I have ever waited in that line is about 20 minutes and that was during a holiday so we were very surprised. This meant that not only could we probably not do our “end of vacation cocktail or beer” at RumFish, but we could not enjoy one of their delicious appetizers. Since the restaurant was right near our gate, did not look too busy, and we still had a good 30 minutes before boarding started, we took a chance and decided to stop in at one of their high top tables and have a cocktail. Since we are from Denver and we have been to really awesome happy hour places and really poorly serviced happy hour places, our standards are usually somewhere in the middle, but we were blown away with the service we received on Sunday. Our server’s name was Ellie (I hope I got that right) and not only was she very understanding to our situation, but she was fast, friendly, and efficient. It also helps that the bartender made our Manhattans perfectly and that is a drink that is easily messed up unfortunately. I just wanted to give a shout out to Ellie and the bartender for giving us a wonderful last experience on our Florida vacation. I imagine it’s not easy to work in an airport. I don’t even like going to airports when I’m heading to see my I imagine it’s not easy to work in an airport. I have worked at many restaurants, but never in an airport so I bet it can be very stressful because of the clientele.

Thank you to the RumFish staff for making our day much better!

I had the pleasure of being served by Tatum during my visit to RumFish Grill in St. Pete, and I can confidently say she helped make the experience truly exceptional. From the moment we were seated, Tatum greeted us with a warm smile and an energy that immediately made us feel welcome.

Her knowledge of the menu was impressive—she gave great recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. Whether it was the perfectly cooked seafood or the creative cocktails, she made sure everything came out just right. What really stood out, though, was her attentiveness. She checked in at the perfect times, never felt intrusive, and somehow anticipated what we needed before we even asked.

Tatum struck that rare balance of being professional, personable, and genuinely enthusiastic about what she does. You can tell she takes pride in her work, and it elevated the entire dining experience.

If you’re heading to RumFish Grill, ask for Tatum—you won’t be disappointed!

(Hint: we was here for our anniversary)

Liz was amazing! She gave great recommendations for cocktails and the firecracker shrimp and poke appetizers were spot on. She seemed to really enjoy taking care of her tables with extra attention and kindness.

I had a Jerk mahi chicken tacos. They were okay. I tasted little to no spice and it came with shredded cheese. The Thai peanut slaw? That was absolutely delicious. I almost asked for an extra portion.

It wasn’t that expensive either for an airport restaurant. I didn’t pay more than $35 for the taco dish and a 20oz beer.

I look forward to trying this again the next time I’m at the airport or wherever I may find them.

Although you might not come to the Rumfish grill for foie gras and sizzling steaks, it really serves very nice bar dishes and good cocktails. I had the mahi tacos and they were very good with sweet potato fries as a side and those were also great – my bloody Mary was well prepared and I did have to upgrade to premium vodka but other than that I was very happy – I recommend the place.

Service was great, and I like the option of siting at a table vs sitting at a bar like most airport restaurants.

The jerk grouper sandwich though; 2* all day long due to zero flavor/seasoning and the bottom bun being wet and about 4mm thick.

I cut it in half and tried to pick it up, but it just dumped all over my plate making this a jerk grouper salad.

Not the best meal I’ve had at TPA, so I will not be making that mistake again.

Great open concept of dining at an airport to where you can see everything.

Ordered the honey habanero wings and sweet potato fries. They both were excellent! I also eyeballed quite a bit of other people’s order while sitting at the bar, and I will say ALL the food looked amazing! Fish tacos, blackened fish, Thai slaw……. the burger. There’s something for everyone.

Oh, and if this helps, it’s located right next to a bathroom.
