After hearing from locals that G&D Seafood was a must-try, we decided to stop by after picking up our carnival costumes—and we’re glad we did!

At G&D, you can either order fresh seafood to take home or dine in. We chose to sit down and enjoy a meal. We started with two drinks: Passion Fruit and Tamarind Passion Fruit. Both were refreshing, but I personally preferred the Tamarind blend.

For our meal, we ordered the Stuffed Lobster and Shrimp—beautifully plated, as you can see below. I had the shrimp, and it definitely hit the spot. My cousin enjoyed the lobster and said it was just as flavorful. The pricing was fair for the portion and quality.

The atmosphere was welcoming, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. You can also get a feel for the vibe from the photo of the restaurant’s interior below.

Will I return?
Yes, I would—but next time, I’ll try something different on the menu!

Last meal on the way to the airport was from G&D and it was outstanding! Very busy at lunch time, over 45 minutes for to go, but absolutely worth it. So yummy. The fish, the pasta, the salad. All superb, fresh and delicious. Call ahead is a very good option.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch before heading back to the airport. We were literally the first customers there. The waitress was really nice and friendly. I ordered grilled salmon with season rice and coleslaw and my husband had grilled salmon and shrimp with a side salad and seasoned rice. The food was FANTASTIC!!!!! The salmon was well seasoned and grilled perfectly and the tartar sauce tasted as if it was made from scratch. If I could have brought it back with me to the states I would have!! I highly recommend anyone that loves seafood to try this place!!

The location was OK. The interior was clean, but I did see a roach crawling on a table . The furniture was second hand from an Asian restaurant, but still in great condition.

The food.
I had the coconut shrimp w/ seasoned rice and mixed veggies. The wait was 45+ minutes before we received our food. The coconut shrimp was just OK. The plum sauce doesn’t pair well with the shrimp. My suggestion would be to create a sauce from a locally grown fruit…mango, June plum.. the seasoned rice was good. The mixed veggies were bland. They ran out of Mac and cheese, 1 flavored drink and cake.

The beverage
I had the ginger blend. It was toooooo sweet. I had to add water. However the kick of the ginger was a delight.

The food is okay, but the atmosphere is lacking for the price. $43.00, at lunch for 5 shrimps and a small price of farm raised salmon. The really bad part was the grating music. As the only one in the restaurant, I asked if she could mute it. She changed it to another equally bad station, then turned it up! I asked to get it to go and ate it in my car. Not a fun way to eat a $43.00 lunch.

While I did not have the best experience, I am still giving it a high rating because I think everyone should try it for themselves and support local owned biz over mass produced chain restaurants.

For me, I think it was just an off day—they said the regular chef was out. I already knew it would take a long time from all the reviews (whatever they say add another 30mins) and price is not a deal breaker if the food is banging…

After a week on the island, I was bummed I hadn’t had conch yet so when I saw it on the menu I had to jump on that. The good: generous portion size and super tender conch. The bad: the curry had absolutely no flavor—no depth, no soul, and no spice (salt and pepper weren’t even at the party). The rice was meh/mushy and plantains cooked to death.

The staff are warm and kind, know their regulars, and the restaurant itself is clean (no wait staff, but you can eat your food in the dining area if you’d like).

Next time I’m back, will def give them another shot.

This place reminds me of a typical fish market that also serves and cooks their daily catches.
I had the stuffed lobster with mixed veggies and coleslaw. The food was delicious! The steamed veggies were cooked perfectly – not too raw but not too soft. The coleslaw had a good crunch and flavor. The lobster is one of the meals I looked forward too the whole trip. The stuffing had a savory and spicy stuffing that filled it along with the actual flavorful and meaty tail. I’m getting hungry thinking about this
