Decided to try because of a Groupon deal. Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff was friendly and attentive. The veal wasn’t frozen and was perfectly cooked. The red sauce is fantastic and not salty. The lasagna and meatballs were homemade and delicious. The portions were large.
The bread and salad were also great. Will definitely be back. If you’re looking for authentic Italian, you will find it here.

What started off as a search for a comfortable place to catch the football game, turned into a romantic candle lit dinner with stunningly delicious food and an even more refined waitstaff. Owned by Randy Rumple and opened at this location in 1982, Rocco’s Italian restaurant may very well be Colorado Springs’ best kept secret. To our surprise, every dish is prepared by skilled Chefs and served homemade and fresh. The Tortellini soup was perfectly seasoned and the seafood dish we ordered was blissfully creamy. Our waitress and bartender, Janel, was not only one of the most pleasant and friendly servers I’ve experienced here in Colorado Springs, but she also knows her way around the bar and dining room menu. She made our experience personal and was an absolute pleasure to spend the evening with. The ambiance of the dining area was cozy and romantic. Tasteful string lights, modern jazz music, and the classic red and white checkered tablecloths, helped in setting the mood for a cozy intimate evening. After dinner, my other half and I were able to move to the bar to catch the end of the Patriots game. Reasonable prices, flavorful dishes, convenient parking, cleanliness, and a memorable waitstaff were just some of the many reasons I would recommend Rocco’s Italian restaurant. This charming destination was splendidly everything we didn’t realize we needed.

I’ve had worse Italian I’ve had better. It very much was a mixed bag. The soup was okay. The meatball was good, the sauce tasted like cheep jar stuff, the gnocchi was nice but a bit overcooked. The portion was plentiful. We had dessert and the lemon-blueberry cake was dry but my husband’s cheesecake was good. I dont know if they were having a off night or what.

I came in because I have passed by it a few times and it got a Groupon deal. I ordered a fried calamari strip and an Italian wedding soup to go with the special, 8oz prime rib dinner. The calamari was fried to perfection, neither overcooked or undercooked. However, the breading and the calamari tasted pretty bland. The tomato sauce came with it was ok. The Italian wedding soup was pretty much some ingredients thrown into a stock. The stock was light as it should be. The sausage pieces and other ingredients didn’t really come together as a whole. They were pretty much just separated by themselves in taste. I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out medium to medium well. The plate also had some green beans and potato. They were seasoned and they were good. But the prime rib was about as tasty as a piece of cardboard. The au jus was about as tasty as the prime rib itself. The bread and the butter were also as tasty as the prime rib. I am still puzzled how the butter didn’t have any buttery taste to it.
The service was good though. The staff was attentive and not overwhelmingly.

Well me and my friend came in for their pizza pie . The girl happened to misunderstand me and bring us thw regular pizza. They were very busy so this is totally understandable. What happened next is what solidifies our returning to this quiet little italian joint. As soon as the girl realized that we had the wrong pizza she was off to set the order right and even though we offered to pay for the other pizza and take it with us as well. She however wouldn’t have it, she knew what we ordered and was definitely making sure we got it. Great. But sometimes slow service. Everything youd expect from an italian restaurant. This isn’t fazolis , it takes time to prepare. Loved how the meatballs were made in house and delicious. (none of that frozen pizza hut stuff) and while our pizza looked a little less all powerful and mighty than the one in the photos (which is what lured us there to begin with) it was still worth the 15 we paid through groupon entirely. Its better than most pizza places, doesn’t make me sick, no heartburn. Real ingredients, real food, real good.
My ONLY negative feedback is that the bread was meger and 5.99. So maybe skip the bread appetizer and go straight for their food. You wont be dissatisfied. Id rate the place a 4 out of 5. Id call it a three star restaurant however but for this rating if overall satisfaction id say 4. Good job guys, keep it up madaline, youre a boss

We came in about 40 minutes before they closed without even realizing what time it was. They were so nice and accommodating, the service was great and the food was fresh and delicious. 10/10 Would recommend.

I went with a friend to Rocco’s for lunch and it’s under new ownership. I’ve never been to this restaurant before and I must say the food was very tasty. The owner/Chef stopped by our table to ask us how everything was and of course everything was amazing. The staff was great also and attended to us immediately. While we were there a customer returned because he couldn’t find his credit card. The staff went above and beyond looking everywhere to find this gentleman’s credit card. They eventually found it and now they have another satisfied customer. Make sure you order the dessert also it was, “to die for.” Their lunch menu is very reasonably priced.

Yep. Went back this week after six months. It’s still as awesome as ever. Meatballs have actually improved… Didn’t think that was possible. Great job yall!
Been going here for over 30 years. Always good food and great service. Never ordered anything but homemade spaghetti and meatballs. Simply cannot get a better plate of this in town, and it hasn’t changed in decades because it is the best you can get. Salad is always fresh, service is always good, and hope to enjoy it for another 30 years. Thanks Robert, your place is an institution in this town, and I love your food!

The service was good, it wasn’t great, seemed to only have a couple of servers as tables began to stack up. However we went early in the evening, before the dinner rush. The food was great, it was brought out quickly, had great flavor! The table bread came out over toasted it was hard, if you left it in the sauce it softened up. All in all though we will defiantly be going again.

We decided to have an impromptu date night and went to Rocco’s for dinner. The staff was very accommodating. It was extremely chilly in there and they turned the air conditioning down a bit so we would be more comfortable.
My husband got the seafood dish and asked for Alfredo sauce instead of whatever they normally used, and that wasn’t an issue. He loved it. I got some penne with red sauce and meatballs. There was more sauce on there than I expected. Most places give you enough to cover the top layer or pasta.
We were very pleased with this place and plan to go back. The prices are a little high, meaning it’s worth it, but we don’t always want to spend that much every time we go out.
