Bloodworth BBQ is an absolute must-visit. The food is amazing. Tender, flavorful meats that clearly show the care and time put into them. The BBQ has that perfect balance of smoky and savory, and the sides are just as good as the main dishes. On top of that, the staff is friendly, welcoming, and makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

There’s not a lot of bells and whistles at Bloodworth’s BBQ. They keep the menu tight, but have all the favorites you expect. My visit was amazing!

Thomas’s brisket, of course, is a favorite of customers. It literally falls apart in your hand. He does not put a rub on the brisket that overwhelms the taste of the meat. His rub really enhances the taste of the beef.

While brisket is Bloodworth’s top seller, I really enjoyed their Smoked Turkey and Pork Belly choices. The turkey was moist and had a light smokey flavor. With Thanksgiving around the corner, if I was going to be in the area for holiday, I would order this by the pound as my main course.

Bloodworth’s Pork Belly was my second favorite. The fat around the meat gave every bite that rich, buttery taste I expected. It was slightly crispy on the outside with another subtile rub flavoring the dish.

I tried both sausages, the Regular and the Jalapeño and Cheese. Both were good, but the latter would be my recommendation if you had to choose only one. No, it is not too spicy.

The last meat I tried was the Pork Rib. I tend to like ribs where the meat falls off the bone. Bloodworth’s required a little teeth tug, but it was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor in its rub. It was my favorite rub on all the meats.

I did not get a chance to sample the Dino Rib, there was only one left. I did get a picture. I think kids would love eating (and playing with) this choice.

If you like BBQ sauces with your meat Bloodworth’s has mild and spicy choices. I think the spicy is the better of the two. It is not hot spicy, but has a lot of spices in there that give it a depth of flavor. If you like hot, ask for the secret TNT sauce named after the two owners. It has a kick that will put some pep in your step.

While Thomas is king of the smoker, Tich is the queen of the sides. She says she leaned hard on the family for ideas. Tich used Thomas’ grandmother’s potato salad recipie and his mother’s Charro Beans and Zesty Cold Pasta. Thomas said, he did slightly modify the beans, opting out of bacon and inserting smoked beef tallow for customers who don’t eat pork. The Smokey 5 Cheese Mac n Cheese and the Lime Creamy Coleslaw are original creations of Tich.

My favorites were the Mac n Cheese and Grandma’s Potato Salad. The former was so creamy and had slightly smokey taste in the background. The potatoes salad was very traditional, also smooth and a bit tangy. You get that perfect blend of mayo and mustard mixed with relish and hard boiled eggs. Yum!

Visited today with my BBQlub and we had a great time. The food was fantastic. The brisket can rival many of the more famous spots with crazy long lines. The service was friendly and excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit and trying everything. Brisket and Mac & cheese were standouts, but it was all great!

Pre-freeze afternoon visit, 1.24.26.

Before we decided to visit, I had called to see of they had smoked chicken. The gentleman on the phone said they did but had run out of some of the other meats and had limited quantities of brisked, chopped brisked and smoked chicken. i told him we’d head right over.

We got there and 1. were greeted with firendly happy faces, 2. I noticed a small bar area as soon as you enter and 3. even though most people were freaking out about the freeze later this evening, the place was half full which to me, is an indication that this olace must be pretty damn good if it was literally freezing and people were willing to risk it for the brisket.

While we waited in line to place our order, I get a callback from the Bloodworth which i though was odd. I answered and it was the gentleman I had spoken to earlier to let me know they were running out of chicken and wanted to know if we wanted him to hild some for us. Ain’t that super nice and fantastic customer service??? I told him were already in line and about to place our order. He came out from the back while he still had me on the phone to greet me and we both laughed about it. Super nice guy and turns out he’s also the pitmaster.

We placed our order for the smoked chicken and also a to go order of brisket to have the following day. We also ordered their 5-cheese mac and cheese and their potato salad. The staff helping us was super helpful and cheery telling us about their menu and how everything is made onsite.

Their chicken was moist and tender with a good smokey flavor and well seasoned with sald and pepper. The wife and i split a chicken quarter each and that was more than enough, especially sonce we were also non-stop digging into the tangy, mustard based potato salad and creamy and heavenly mac and cheese. Neither is to be missed! Also, while I’m not generally a fan of bbq sauces, their Gold and Spicy are freaking out of this world.

Kudos to the entire staff as they were all incredibly nice, from the two young ladies behind the counter slicing the meats and packing the sides, to the gentleman behind the bar (thanks for asking of I needed another Lonestar) to the pitmaster checking on his customers, it was just such a great, refreshing experience.

Glad to have a fantastic option close by to indulge in great tasting smoked meats!

I pre-ordered bbq from Bloodworth’s for the Super Bowl. I was a little nervous having never eaten here before and hosting a dozen Texans who know and love bbq. When we pulled up my heart sank at the “sold out” sign. I was so relieved when I walked in and they knew me by name, stating “we’ll always have your pre-order covered”. They were kind and welcoming and the atmosphere looked great with both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately I was too distracted to take pics as they started slicing the ribs, sausage and brisket that looked and smelled amazing! All of it was a huge hit including the Mac and cheese which had a smokey taste I had never experienced. Highly recommend, worth the drive from Austin to get some down home bbq at affordable prices, served by wonderful people.

This was our first visit and certainly won’t be the last!! Awesome friendly , helpful and quick service and very delicious food!! The chopped brisket sandwich on a heavenly white bread bun had a subtle smoky flavor and was a generous tender portion. The pulled pork sandwich was juicy and flavorful on the same type of bun. The five cheese Mac and cheese was AMAZING, my husband added some of the chopped brisket to it which took it to another level. My father-in-law, his words, these are the meatiest juiciest pork ribs ever!! The sides are generous and delicious too. We were first in the door, and by the time we were done it was standing room only. GET HERE EARLY because when they’re sold out, they’re done for the day. This will be my family’s go to BBQ joint. (FYI: insider info the owner is planning on adding live music at some point) Please support this local Kyle business!! It’s 12 star Texas good!!

This is THE BEST BBQ I’ve ever had in my whole life and I’ve been to a lot of BBQ joints. We ordered the Dino ribs, pork belly and jalapeño, cheddar sausage link. I even went back for seconds to bring home. It’s THAT GOOD! We will be back, guaranteed!

I walked in on a busy Sunday afternoon! A photographer was snapping photos of a delicious buffet of meats! A gathering of people standing like there was a small party going on…it was just people waiting for their food but small town folks all know one another. I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket and a link of their in-house homemade sausage with a side of 5 cheese mac & cheese.

I want to preface that many people think that brisket has to be tender and fall apart when you pick it up…it doesn’t! That’s not what truly makes great Texas bbq. The meat just needs to be “not tough”. The real magic is in the flavor, how the fat is rendered and visually; the bark and a gorgeous smoke ring under the bark!

My first bite was into the mac & cheese. It’s great! Actually incredible. But it was something that I could only take a few bites of. It’s like a roller coaster…super fun but after a few rides, you have a headache and get a little motion sickness. Still…a great mac & cheese but one small portion is good enough for 2 or 3 people to share. The brisket is what I come to bbq restaurants for, this one did not disappoint…not even the slightest! This is not fall apart brisket, again, it doesn’t need to be. This is just damn good Texas brisket! Incredible bark! And a healthy looking smoke ring! I ate half of my brisket plain and the other half with their Gold bbq sauce…literally a golden hued sauce! One of the best I’ve ever had! Now for the star of the show here; the sausage! The lady who took my ordered warned me about how good their sausage is and she wasn’t raised a liar! I can vouch for that. I couldn’t tell you that I’ve had better sausage, and if I had, I don’t remember. 5 star Texas bbq, and I’m clearly not the only one who agrees…currently they have a 4.9 star rating! If there was two decimal points, I’m pretty darn sure that’s a 4.99

The BEST bbq in Kyle. Period. That Mac & Cheese is so unique, I can’t eat enough. Brisket sandwich was perfect. House made sauce; just perfect. I don’t know how, but they perfected Texas BBQ. Texas Monthly, take note.
