So I ordered teriyaki chicken. Vietnamese egg rolls, And a watermelon bubble tea. The teriyaki chicken was basically a gigantic portion of white rice. A small side salad with some kind of dressing(actually the salad/dressing was amazing). And a good portion of just teriyaki chicken(no veggies except some tiny pieces of green onion shredded on top as a garnish).
The salad was way good! I’m impressed. The white rice … Was white rice. (Does anyone enjoy white rice?). The teriyaki chicken was good. But I can’t call it amazing. But it really was not bad. But for the price… I probably wouldnt order teriyaki chicken. Again.
The Vietnamese egg rolls I took a gamble on. It’s 5 bucks for 2 long skinny egg rolls. Came with sauce. They were kind of bland. I was not impressed. But they weren’t horrible or anything. Just like a 5/10.
The bubble tea I had asked for without tapioca bubbles in it. I wanted popping bubbles. I got watermelon and the taste was awesome. However when I received my bubble tea… It had the tapioca balls in it anyways. Also…. While I waited for my food I couldn’t help but notice that you CAN get popping bubbles. They were on a flyer on the plastic divider by the register. So I was bummed about that. just to let everyone know. The smoothie bubble tea is like a slushie. Ice and whatnot.
My biggest complaint was that I called and ordered at 10:45. They said they didn’t open until 11. I said that’s fine. I got off work at 11. Had somewhere else to stop at first, and then I’d get over there. So plenty of time I figured. I went to the other place and got to this place and she told me my food would be ready in about 1 minute. Over 15 minutes later I got my food at 11:20. My lunch was over at 11:30 and I still had to drive 7 minutes to get back to work so I wouldn’t be late. So I didn’t get to eat much before I had to get back to work.
Also my order was almost 30 dollars! For one person.
Overall experience ..ehhhh…. 6/10. Room for improvement.
The only napkins were the small square ones usually found under drinks. And no silverware, my fork came with the food. Odd.
Ordered the Pad Thai with chicken (just $9.50) even though the Pho brought me in. I know everyone’s Pad Thai is different, this version is much sweeter than I’ve had before, the sauce thicker, the noodles chewy – to the point that biting through the longer ones was somewhat difficult. Flavorful & hot with requested spice level.
It was loud inside with the TV playing the local news & the radio playing holiday music at a slightly louder volume. (Dinged a star for that)
Next time I’m trying the Pho. And adjust the review if need be.
The Crab Ragoon was a disappointment. It came with no sauce and wasn’t very edible without any. I can only assume mine was forgotten, because it’s usually included at other Thai places.
It’s worth trying out. I’d like to get the rice again because it was very good. The Crab Ragoon I’ll have to ask next time if it comes with a sauce and make sure its in the order.
Grilled Pork & Eggroll
Refreshing. Light. Delicious.
Noodles were cooked perfectly, cabbage, scallions, carrots, cucumbers & cilantro all sliced beautifully. I mean it. It’s nice to order something for dinner that someone took pride to make.
Grilled, thinly sliced pork combined with all fish sauce, bean sprouts, peanuts and left over peanut sauce from my spring roll appetizer pictured up in the upper right.
I was pleasantly surprised with how satisfying all the flavors were & really enjoyed being full but not weighed down after eating most of this.
If you’ve hesitated to order a dish like this, I would like to encourage you to let go & enjoy some refreshing vegetables and a light sauce with some fried spring rolls.
The pho soup was salty. The meat in the pho was crumbly.
On the contrary, the hot and sour soup which was served before the meal was good.
I might visit this restaurant again to check if the salty soup was a mistake.
The welcome crisps were a nice surprise, enjoyed it a lot..
