In town for a lake get away and our friends had recommended! We had the place to ourselves and had the BEST time!! We ordered the decision armadillo eggs and the pimento cheese eggs, so creative and yummy!! Our meal was caeser salad with homemade caeser, in fact all the condiments are made in house!! Our table got two spuds, and four burgers. The burgers were filling and tasty! They even gave us grilled in garlic aioli jalapenos which were perfect! The tater tots, regular and layered were so good!! And the onion rings were crunchy and tasted great! We got some dairy farm ice cream to go since we were stuffed! Thank you for hosting us for a yummy late lunch! The service was funny and so helpful as we made decisions! The location is easy to find right off the highway and accessible bathrooms. Simple place with decor of the history of the town. Go check it out!

Best home cooking , I have had in a very long time! Veteran owned and veteran ran, and this veteran thoroughly enjoyed The Visit! Clean, homey environment! I ordered the brisket burger, I don’t think I could have made a better selection! Flavor was explosive and meat was juicy! Officially my favorite eating joint.

I have been to this establishment multiple times and each time have had a great meal. Cozy atmosphere inside and don’t be surprised if you see a few regulars.
The chef/owner has been there on each of my visits. You can view the kitchen area from your seat and he takes care in crafting each meal as well as careful thought put into the ingredients.
I personally love the Feed Trough Burger, while my girlfriend raved about the giant spud with brisket on it. Don’t sleep on their specials or “Burger of the month” either. With it being September, there was an Oktoberfest Burger option that I’ve got to try on my next visit. Good portions of food for a good price.
Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how pleasant the waitress/cashier has been on each visit. Funny and witty too! Not just going through the motions like you see nowadays at most establishments. This is how you treat customers.

The owner of this place has a heart of gold. He’s an army vet who is giving back to the community. He’s apparently been there for a while and we just discovered this place! We will be eating here a LOT in the future! Oh! And the food is amazing!

First time here; the staff is very friendly professional:) The food is absolutely delicious! Tender smoked brisket, delicious juicy burger, excellent sides with a place to eat outside. The Texas twinkies we’re smoked jalapeños stuffed with brisket sooo very good!

A hidden gem, but absolutely a must try!! The food is fresh, no frozen fries here!! And burgers are hand shaped when ordered! Delicious food!!

I’ll start with the goods:
* brisket was on point! It was moist, tender and flavorful!
* spicy sausages had good flavor and heat. Nice and moist.
* sauces were good. I particularly like the tangy Carolina one!
* potato salad was good…has a fresh tangy flavor.
Onto the bads:
* my biggest turn-off was the stench emitted from the tables and counters. Though everything was neat and wiped clean…the rags and the water buckets the girls used must not been cleaned in days…so all the surfaces emitted a rank odor! Good thing I got my food to go otherwise I would have never been able to eat due to the smell.
* “pulled pork” was not pulled but chopped and overly dry. See pix.
* ham had no flavor and had rubbery texture.
* the fried pies were so greasy, it was like eating candied lard…”but they’re fried pie, they should be greasy” you say…that’s understood and expected…but I didn’t expect for grease to be dripping from them.

Down to earth people with the best food I’ve had in a long time. Chicken fried steak was 10/10, brisket was beautiful, texas twinkies were perfect. The staff is friendly and the cooks and owners come out and greet you and take the time to get your opinion on your experience. This place was a breath of fresh air.
