Great date night spot. We enjoyed our food from “across the pond” very much! The best part? Everything is made fresh and from scratch. No premade ingredients! Service was wonderful and our glasses were never empty. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Wonderful treatment from the staff and owner! Cute and small place, but if you are lucky to get a seat to dine here YOU ARE IN FOR A GREAT MEAL! We were treated to a complimentary bowl of potato and herb soup. I had grilled pork chops and my husband chose the chicken fried chicken. They have a huge menu, too! Sorry, I didn’t take a picture of it.

Really enjoyable little place. Outside is deceiving; inside is cozy and rustic, like grandma’s front porch. The staff is so friendly and want you to enjoy yourself. The food is excellent!! Proper English fare including Bangers & Mash, Full English Breakfast, as well as crepes, waffles, and a DELICIOUS Spinach Soup (thank you for the curry, Kerry)!! STOP by and enjoy!!

We stopped by after driving an hour away for an event, and we loved our visit! All of the staff were very pleasant, the atmosphere was rustic and cozy, and the food was good. The only thing that was a little bothersome was the strange cans of mystery vegetable on a rack that I had to stare. They looked to had been there for months,, and some had mold inside.

Finally stopped in & tried this restaurant after passing by for a year or two. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with brown gravy, carrots & hand cut fries. This is now my go-to place for chicken fried chicken. Good size portions & the gravy is really good. Also, the barley & vegetable soup is delicious. Many good options here!!!! Most definitely will be going back.

Friday evening and I wanted something unique. Pengus’ Place is that. An eclectic mix of British and American cuisines served in an intimate setting. I started with a potato soup and side salad that was delicious. My appetizer of fried mushrooms was big enough to share, unfortunately I was alone. The main entrée was steak and mushroom pie. The flaky crust was heavenly. The was plenty of steak blended with sauté mushrooms. I didn’t have room for dessert but I got a Black Forest turnover that I can’t wait to dive into. Now that I know they are here I will be back often.

Ordered carry out. All the fried food was soggy. The Shepherds pie was literally just a bowl of mashed potatoes with some ground meat around the outer edge on the bottom. 98% potatoes and 1% meat 1% cheese. Very disappointed. Won’t be back.

EDIT in response to owner: look at that picture, does that like like “7-8 oz of meat? No. That’s a bowl of potatoes with some meat sprinkled in. Maybe 7-8 is your recipe, but the cook was really slacking that night.
As for the quality of the fried food, we live 5 min away. So not sure why it would get soggy that quickly from the fryer. Good luck.

This place is now my new favorite place to eat when I am out this way for Faire. The staff is amazing, the Artichoke Heart soup is not to be missed and the Fish and Chips are the best I have had in a quite a while. If you are out this way, you have to try it.

We were a group of 3. At the hour we went wasn’t busy. We ordered sausage and gravy biscuits to share. That was absolutely yummy, I definitely enjoyed that. For my main dish I got sausage, bacon and egg “burger” but there wasn’t a burger? But it was still good and you can never go wrong with tots. My boyfriend got the British breakfast which came with beans, fried toast, blood sausage and eggs. He enjoyed his dish. My friend for a typical breakfast eggs, sausages, bacon and instead of home fries she did the tots as well. We would definitely come back again.

Liked the British items on the menu. Stopped in on a cold Saturday for late lunch and had Fish and chips, mrs. Had the all day British breakfast. It was all pretty good.
But more interesting we were provided a free cup of soup to heat us up while we were waiting, how good is that?
Service was excellent, food was good and prices are very reasonable. You can tell these folks are trying their best on a limited budget, so go support them as a local restaurant as best you can.
