Loved this place, the food was yummy, service was excellent, and even though it was super busy the food came out quickly!

Anthony was our server, he was so good. He shared all about the menu and helped us pick the right items. It was a great experience, if you’re in the area for sure check it out!

Server Hugh was great at explaining items on menu for me and very pleasant. I thought what items I ordered were legit and fresh as you can get. I will definitely be back with friends!

Love this place! Used to go all the way to Edison and now it’s convenient distance away. Recommend the soup dumplings, bao buns and kung pao chicken.

The location is very modern and you can see people roll dumplings live inside the lab.

The service was prompt and we got seated right away! Cannot wait to visit more often. Family and Kids Friendly and good for larger groups as well.

This was our first time at the Morris Plains location as it has just opened. We did try the Edison location and it did leave a lot to be desired.

However, that was not the case here. What an excellent experience. Everything was delicious. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Wantons, Cream Cheese Rangoons, Salt & Pepper Chicken, Chicken Soup Dumplings, Shrimp Dumplings, Kimchi Chicken Dumplings (we were split in this one), Pork Truffle Soup Dumplings (my favorite), Mango Black Iced Tea, Passion Fruit Black Iced Tea and the Fortune Cookie Cheesecake.

We had no complaints at all. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The vibe here beats Edison, which felt very cavernous and considering where we were sitting an afterthought. The Morris Plains location makes excellent use of the space, there is ample parking and the staff is wonderful. Shout to our server Allison for being attentive to us and making us feel right at home.

Do not miss this one folks, you will have a great experience.

We recently tried Ugly Dumpling and were so impressed that we went back the very next day.

The atmosphere is beautiful — the space somehow feels much bigger than it is, and the open concept with the dumpling-making in the center adds such a fun, authentic touch. Everything came out hot, fresh, and incredibly fast.

We ordered the Kung Pao chicken, pork soup dumplings, spicy chicken wontons, and steamed BBQ pork buns — and honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite. If I had to choose, the spicy chicken wontons were unbelievable. The noodles were so thin and delicate, and the flavor was absolutely perfect.

We even brought our 20-month-old son the second time, and he loved watching them make the soup dumplings. He did great, and the environment felt welcoming and comfortable for families.

We can’t wait to go back again!

It was brand new when we went so I want to give them their credit. The food was good, some dishes were lacking though. The green beans just tasted steamed, bland. The ribs were just ok, they didn’t look like the ones on the menu. The sesame noodles surprisingly were the best part, better than din tai fung!!!!!!!! If they could just turn the bright white led lights down it would be cozier!

What a wonderful experience with some excellent food! I tried the Edison location not too long ago and it was great and this one is just as delicious. It’s awesome having another Soup Dumping location in Morris County, will be back for more!

food: yummy – especially the vegan dumplings, vegetarian stir-fried noodles, and and noodle w spicy sauce (not spicy at all so fear not). i thought the spicy vegan wontons were just okay.

drinks: matcha crème was good (i enjoyed the flavor a lot) but the yogurt and fruit drinks were very watery and too sweet despite “less sugar.”

service: the person helping us would disappear so ordering the drinks and additional food took longer and then even longer for them to come. the hostess was very nice though!

vibe: it is beautiful in there!!! nice date spot!

price: fair

i would recommend this place and would return again! thank you for having us!

We enjoyed every moment. The staff were friendly from the moment we walked in. The place is beautifully designed down to the smallest details. There is a Bao Lab which allows you to watch how the dumplings are made by the chefs. We tried the Spicy Chicken Wontons, Ugly Dumpling Sampler with the Shrimp Fried Rice and for dessert the Fortune Cookie Cheesecake. Each element was delicious. The wontons were juicy and the sauce flavorful. The rice was very tasty and they didn’t skimp on the shrimp. The cheesecake was delicious and the fortune cookie topping added the right texture. Overall, wonderful first experience and will definitely be back.
