We took a takeaway from this place during our stay in Hunter Valley.
The vegetarian food was good! The paneer palak was a bit on the tangy side for our taste, but overall we liked the food. The service was quick, and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely a good spot if you’re craving Indian food in Hunter Valley

The food was undoubtedly delicious, and the service was punctual. However, I would have appreciated a more friendly and attentive demeanor from the staff. If I were solely evaluating the dining experience based on the food, I would commend the establishment for its exceptional taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
Upon reviewing the bill, I discovered that several items had been incorrectly charged at a dollar higher than their listed menu prices. While I did not inquire about this discrepancy, the total amount of the additional charge was only three dollars. Nevertheless, I felt compelled to bring this matter to the attention of the restaurant.
Apart from this minor oversight, the overall dining experience was satisfactory.

Mains were very small, lukewarm and lacked essential spices and authenticity.
Nan and Rice ok.

We finished and went to the Cessnock Hotel and ordered Pub food as we were still hungry.

We ordered Palak Paneer and Kadhai Paneer for dinner from Indian Hunter Restaurant yesterday, and it was extremely disappointing. after requesting them to make it hot, it was still not properly warm. The taste was bland and slightly sweet, which is not expected for these dishes. The food lacked authentic flavour and freshness. It was so bad that we couldn’t eat it and had to throw it away. Overall, a very poor experience and not worth it.

I honestly wish I could give this place zero stars because the entire experience was a disaster. The food was borderline inedible, specifically the curries, which were so sweet and bland they literally tasted like warm ketchup. To make matters worse, the service was staggeringly incompetent; it took our waiter three entire tries just to bring us our coffee correctly. Between the pathetic food and the clueless staff, there is absolutely no reason to waste your money at this idiotic restaurant.

First time going here tonight & was amazing! Not long of a wait for food which was awesome, the front desk lady was very lovely 100% will be back! Best part is it was so filling I got to take left overs home thanks again xx

This is the best Indian I’ve had outside of my local on the Gold Coast! WOW! We got onion bhaji, samosas, dal and Rogan Josh. There was so much meat in the Rogan Josh, it was great. I wouldn’t order the samosas again because they didn’t have a lot of flavor but it was the best bhaji I’ve ever had and the dal was top notch.

Food quality was awful for mains and definitely do not recommend if you looking for a decent quality food.
Ordered Chicken tikka masala and Kadhai paneer in mains but to our utter disappointment the chicken tikka gravy tasted like it was loaded with tomato ketchup paste and filled with raw chunks of chicken. Kadhai paneer gravy also didn’t taste well as it felt too blank.
Another disappointment was with the keema naan. Was served with green shredded chicken stuffed naan which is definitely not the original dish. Would rather suggest to change its name to chicken parantha instead.
Never coming back to this restaurant ever again and would definitely keep everyone in my circle aware of my unpleasant experience.
