Great coffee spot! The coffee was really delicious — smooth, mild, and definitely barista quality. I’m not sure if it’s a local café or part of a small chain, but they even had their own merch, which made the place feel well loved and established.
The pastries looked amazing too (even though we didn’t try any), and the café was already quite busy, which tells me it’s a popular spot with locals and visitors alike.
Would absolutely come back for another coffee.

Amazing coffee and tea selections. Delicious pastries both sweet and savory, locally baked, you can taste the freshness! Staff is fast, efficient, well trained and friendly. Location is central and ambiance is on point. A firm reminder that while the consistency of chains can be appealing in our rushed world the reward of finding and supporting local gems is the sweetest reward of all.

Centrally located in the quaint historic downtown, on a side street with little traffic. Handicap parking spot right in front of the shop. A few tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy your coffee in the sun. Large, bright interior with bright sunlight shining through the window. Plenty of seatings with high top and regular chairs. While busy when visiting there was basically no wait. Served quickly by a young, friendly and attentive associate. Good selection of hot and cold beverages and nice pastries. Counter area and tables were kept very clean. Great quality and reasonable pricing. Excellent find, will be our must stop when coming to or passing through SLO!

I love Scout coffee. They make their own almond milk, which makes the lattes even more delicious. Their Chia pudding is fresh and full of berries and their homemade jam. Their coffee shops are cute and the people who work there are very friendly.

I was visiting SLO for a soccer tournament and needed coffee for a very early morning Sunday. Scout was absolutely amazing: the staff were very friendly, pastries were spot on, and the almond latte was the creamiest I’ve ever had. I also loved the ambiance and the good tunes that weren’t loud or overpowering.
The vibe the cafe has is like you’re sitting in your clean kitchen on a Sunday morning and you are about to have a very good day. I’d make it my regular spot if I ever move to the Central coast.

The sunlight streaming through the large windows combined with the greenery created such a relaxing atmosphere. I loved the laid-back vibe with locals casually dropping by. The coffee menu was diverse and everything I tried was delicious. I stopped by while traveling, but if I get the chance, I’d definitely love to visit again.

Great experience at Scout! The service is top-notch and the shop itself has a great location/vibe.

Rosemary Latte: Unique and delicious.
Orange Cardamom Cappuccino: Highly recommend, super fragrant and smooth.
The Note: The coffee is definitely the star here. The cookie we had was average, so I’d stick to the drinks next time. Overall, a fantastic stop in San Luis Obispo.

Scout Coffee is always solid. Usually the place I go to when I’m in SLO they have a couple different locations maybe even a few. When I’m here I alternate between Cold Brew, Lattes and a regular drip. They have some special Matchas right now matcha with strawberries and matcha with lemonade they looked pretty good will probably try one next time. They have a Scout Cookie that’s really good and they have different scones that rotate im not a huge scone guy but there’s on top of the creative flavors are really good. Try it out I definitely recommended can’t go wrong with this place, solid coffee.

We love Scout Coffee. Always excellent. We normally order cappuccinos, but we tried their Vanilla Bean Lattes this morning with a pistachio shortbread cookie that we shared. They make their own syrups. It was delicious. Our favorite is still their cappuccinos, because you get the true robust coffee flavor. This coffee shop is a hub for morning people—great atmosphere—one of a kind ambiance.
