First off, the place was very clean at 5:00PM. Bathroom was clean as well. Atmosphere was nice as well.
Ordering was slightly annoying as I could not understand the person taking my order. I think he was just talking really fast but because I have never eaten here before I had a hard time understanding what he was repeating, perhaps he is so used to repeating orders he says them super fast. My son said he could understand him but man I struggled and I don’t struggle anywhere else. Anyways, he was nice and all so I don’t hold it against him just think maybe he should slow it down bit as the entire order sounded like a run-on sentence.
Our total for a two burgers, one fry , and two regular drinks seamed way overpriced. No, it was definitely overpriced at $32.65. Two combos with fries and large drinks everywhere else is $25 or less. For a great burger at a great price I suggest Buddy’s Burger. Great burgers and great price. Your order is cooked fresh and completed almost before you finish getting your drink!
So on to the food. Great burgers cooked just right and not over seasoned like many other places. No complaints on the burgers outside of the price. Fries were a little bland, we tossed them out after eating 2-3 of them. Drinks were tiny but you get free refills so whatever.
One more thing, they have a tip screen when paying that is the first screen. What am I tipping for and to who? I just ordered, am I tipping for the ordering process? I have not even had my food yet how can I tip for my experience if all I have done is order? Super weird and after almost $33 for two burger I feel the owner needs to tip the employees if they are amazing. May sound crazy but that tip screen makes me not want to eat here almost as much as the overall price.
Verdict: Due to price and that tip screen I will not be coming back. Burger was really good but I can’t drop $33 bucks on burgers, that is just crazy.
The cheese steak was the biggest shocker, meat was maybe enough for a small child. They used a square American cheese slice and half melted it on the meat. The bread was cold and not toasted or fresh.
As for the service, it was a disappointment from the start which I should have known meant the food might disappoint as well.
Apparently you can’t add food to your order once the cashier decides to add a name to your order prior to hitting total/swiping your card. Shelly said that you can’t add food anymore since she decided to hit a “certain” button. Therefore, we would have to make a separate order. So we passed on ordering more food. Thankfully we didn’t order more.
Seriously hoped this place would be good, but truly was a terrible waste of money. BTW its $15 a person if you get a meal – minimum. We didn’t get fries for everyone or drinks, due to the cashier not knowing how to run the computer. Thus, a kid and 2 adults was $35 without meals, just burgers.
Surely our experience was a lack of management training their cooks and cashiers to the standard of Wayback Burgers. ….Unfortunately multiple personnel failed in the service and food experience which is the entire point of such a restaurant.
And they play music with Wayback Burger advertisements coming on loud every few minutes,… that was weird!
And I am the type to not typically write a bad review or have criticism…..
