Pell City has a great Tex Mex place in the heart of the city. Even more, they have created an environment that makes you feel like you are in Mexico. The music and food will create a sense of nostalgia. It is enhanced by sharing it with others here.
The food is really great. I created my combo and it was some of the best Tex Mex East of the Mississippi I have tasted. Refried beans and Rice came with it. I saved room for dessert and I ordered the sopapilla initially but my server made another recommendation that I couldn’t resist. It started with ice cream and chocolate sauce and included a chimicauga like roll.
I’m glad I looked this place up and I plan to return next time I’m passing through or near there.

While we’re still new to the area, this place has become one of our favorite places to eat. It’s very similar in every way to a Mexican restaurant that we always ate at, back home, in Ankeny, Iowa, called Guadalajara.
The service here has always been great and the dinner options are priced extremely well. Their complimentary chips and salsa are awesome, and the place is very clean. I always get the bandit burrito with steak. Back home it’s simply called a smothered cheese steak burrito. My wife likes to mix it up and get different things. The portions of rice and beans are always generous with your dinners, too.
If you look closely, you’ll also notice that this building was an old style Pizza Hut, back in the day. Kind of cool to see them still being used.

My wife and I love to go here. Wonderful food and great service. I always get the steak Tacos Al Carbon. They are amazing. My wife gets steak fajitas or steak Locos Nachos. They make a wonderful margarita also. They serve large portions of wonderful food. It is always good every time we go.

Came to town to visit a friend and stopped to try a local place on a recommendation. Somehow this gem was hidden from us all this time, it was amazing. The waitress who served our table while claiming to be only 17 was by far one of the most friendly and professional waitresses I have encountered in a long time. She consistently throughout out meal checked to make sure we had everything we needed. The food came out in no time and was delicious. Obviously it was so good I failed to take a picture before digging in. There were large portions brought out to everyone. Another plus was the vast selection of margaritas. We had the Ocean, and lime margaritas and both were on point. What a great place to stop in and get your Mexican food fix. I highly recommend this location to anyone.

Loved Mayas! The food was flavorful and the margarita was well made. I got the Mexican spaghetti with cheese on side and a tango margarita. My server was nice and helpful. I’d definitely return here

Definitely good food on very reasonable price here. We had the Mexican pasta and Mexicano Steak. Both have great portion. Mexican pasta was meh as the meat was plenty but dry. However the steak was great! They definitely cooked the steak better than some franchise steakhouse nearby. Meat was soft and flavorful with seasonings from fajitas. Fried beans and rice were decent too.

We had an excellent time at Mayas! Our server was amazing and the food came out hot. I had the Camerones a la Diabla and it was perfect. So many restaurants tone down the dish so it was great to have one with a lil bite. Definitely check Mayas out if you are in the are!
