Social Profile:

Magical coffee shops! We’re thrilled to announce that Rise Up Cafe has been chosen to operate a location at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). This is HUGE for our team of dedicated employees — to be seen and interact with 12,000-plus people everyday, reaching far beyond the limits of our current shop — what an impact on the lives of the people we serve and our customers alike. With that, we’ve closed our downtown Sarasota cafe to concentrate on the expanded opportunity at SRQ Airport along with a continued focus on job and social skills training for hundreds of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We thank you all for your support in the first stages of our development, and now it’s time to FLY!

I love what this place stands for an how they employee individuals with developmental disabilities!

I love that the coffee is organic but I was disappointed at the taste. I spent $7 on a latte and didn’t even end up drinking it!

I’ve heard that the Icecream and beignets are amazing but I did not have the chance to try them out. There are about 4-6 tables inside and a small outside patio.

I would say this is more of an in and out type place versus one you would set up and work from.

There is limited street parking and a parking garage right next door. I believe the minimum cost to park is $3.50

What a wonderful store that delivers both in its great food and atmosphere. From workers that greet you at the door with a smile to delicious desserts and coffees you are in for a treat when you go here. And make sure you try the beignets, the best I have had outside of New Orleans.

What a heart warming experience. I never heard of this company before let alone their mission for inclusion and diversity. The girl who made my coffee was so excited about how she made it look….. it was the sweetest thing ever. The coffee was good….a little pricey but well worth it. The coffee shop itself was cute and outdoor seating available.

Home made icecream. I had the key lime Manning (YUM!). Mary offered great service. The shop is spotless. The owners make everything in house by Mom and Grandpa. They make it all with love dedicated to inclusion of disabilities.

We were thrilled and honored to make some new friends at this lovely cafe. The ice cream is made fresh in house and is amazing and highly recommended. If this isn’t reason enough to stop by, Rise Up is run by adults with developmental disabilities which is so wonderful. The entire staff was so welcoming and excited to meet my dog (yes, dog friendly as well!).

Such a wonderful place! They have a cute coffee shop vibe but also ice cream treats. They make home made ice cream samies right on the soot. The staff are mostly special needs, so they offer the opportunities to find employment for those that may struggle. Their was a girl doing live painting and the founder had a display of his products and diamond art!
I love this being in our community and what it offers!
It’s also super delicious and in the cutest spot near Bricks!
A must for after dinner fun!

Pros:
-such a huge menu. You can pretty much get any coffee drink you want, any ice cream you want (including different cones or you can get an ice cream sandwich with their cookies). And they have beignets??
-at night, they will open up the store so there’s seating outside/inside and it’s just such a nice environment. Lots of cozy lighting
-they sell artwork by employees there

Con:
-I think their ordering system is a bit confusing at first and inefficient. But that’s just me being picky

What I recommend:
-their ice cream cookie sandwiches. You get to pick your own cookies and ice cream

This is the most amazing coffee/Ice cream place we’ve ever been to. The quality of ingredients are top notch homemade and local. I haven’t had coffee this good since I visited Colombia! All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the best part is it’s a non-profit.
