I rarely write these reviews, but feel the need to vent. I use to frequent this place before I moved as it was a staple in the area. I went to pick up some carry out, and I was excited to bite down into some Marge’s classics. It was disappointing to say the least.
I understand there is new ownership—but what’s the motive of jacking up the prices and lowering the quality of the food?? The restaurant built such a great reputation and from this experience alone it’ll be hard for me to justify patronizing this business ever again.
We ordered basket of fries, and they were terrible, not to mention the portion sizes was laughable. The burger tasted like rubber, no flavor, and I bet the patty was frozen. The chicken tenders were a joke. We ordered more too, but it’d be redundant to use the same or similar adjectives to describe how subpar everything was compared to what it use to be.
When I use to order Marge’s, I knew what was going to get; fresh, good portions, tasted good, and the prices were justifiable. Disappointed://

For decades Marge’s Bar was known for great burgers amongst other things, it saddens me to say that the burgers are now horrible. They now use a pre formed frozen patty that resembles meat but is absolutely flavorless. I understand that food costs have gone up but when you start going cheap on food quality you’re just paving your way to closing the doors. Hey Charlie, stop messing up a good thing. I understand you want to put your own spin on the menu but don’t destroy your staples while doing so. I have never complained about cost when the food is good, I happily pay for quality but $28.00 for two sub par burgers and fries is sad.

Go back a year and check out the reviews, most people loved it. Now, you’d be hard pressed to find a good review. What’s the difference? Ownership. Frozen burger patties and 200 dollar bottles of wine are not what this place is built on. Out of touch owner that treats the old gal like a hobby. Its shame to see it sink in real time. Please spare us the price increase speech. You’re trying to sling $25 lobster rolls and some kind of steak for $35 if I remember correctly. So long, Marge. It was nice to know ya.

Their prices went up 300%. The food is no better, the service is worse. I used to like this place… the worst part about it. It buisyer then ever. I won’t go back.

Great food Rob rocked it out with the great service! We had the fish and Chips and salmon. The fish had such a light breading on it, was great. Thanks Rob! It’s a must check out.

The best “hockey bar” in the world. When you go to Marge’s you travels back in time with the authentic memorabilia on the walls (including some Olympia Stadium Boards). Owner Jimmy cooks the best burgers and the staff is always friendly.

Cool ole school dive bar that seems designed for a hockey game. Food was pretty darn good too.
