I am so glad we have a place like Reve in Birmingham now. We went for a dinner to celebrate a few milestones (and a night away from our kids). Note: I would not come here if I had to be somewhere later in the evening or needed to get a quicker dinner. The point is to sit and enjoy. The atmosphere is great, the staff is just lovely and engaging, and the food was so, so good. It was just one course after another of delightful things. I was a little worried that with small plates we might be hungry still, but we were completely full by the end of the night. I want to go back just to see what they serve next!

You definitely get the bang for your buck with the prix fixe tasting menus. We got the full story menu experience and it was a lot of food. The canapes were great and the food was interesting for sure. The lamb was one of my favorite dishes. The caviar and potato creation was also very memorable and so savory. Dessert really does sneak up on you since there are about four different desserts and the cheesecake was maybe a tad too rich (for me). I was weirdly not a fan of the escargot since they had a somewhat fishy aftertaste. Service was great and the waiters were amazing in explaining the dishes. Got to see the executive chef working as well. Overall, good experience

Our party of three enjoyed the 10-course tasting menu and found every course presented beautifully and with intricate detail and thought put into all of the flavor. It would be hard to choose a favorite course because really after each course they kept surprising us with new depths of flavors, becoming our new favorites. We also had dietary restrictions we notified them ahead of time against red meat, and they were very accommodating, serving us a beet-based dish that tasted and felt like cutting steak . My personal favorite may have been the caviar with potato “ice cream” which was creamy, smooth and presented beautifully. The flavors of all the courses were rememberable without being overpowering, overall a really wonderful experience!

I am revising a previous 5 ⭐ review just to add another 5 ⭐ review following our visit this evening (Jan 2026) Rêve is a fascinating culinary experience. My party of two opted for the 6-course tasting menu with the wine pairing and were enamored by the aesthetic and flavors of each dish. Truly a gastronomic delight which, in this writer’s opinion, is the best in Birmingham and thus the best in the entire state. The origins of Rêve got us in the door and the food, service, and atmosphere sealed the deal. With an ever evolving menu of seasonal items, the team’s skill shines with the complementary combinations of flavors that simply cannot be found in any other establishment in the city. 5 ⭐ we shall be returning at the first opportunity.

My husband and I went to Reve, and honestly, it was a strange experience from start to finish. The restaurant is located inside the Pizitz Food Hall, which immediately threw off the atmosphere. To use the restroom, we had to leave the restaurant, walk through a dark, empty food court, and the smell of popcorn lingering in the air didn’t exactly set the tone for fine dining. Even finding the place was confusing—we had to ask for directions after entering through the food hall.

We opted for the six-course tasting menu with wine pairings, but it was far more wine than we wanted. Six three-ounce pours left our table overflowing with glasses, and we couldn’t keep up. Maybe it works for big wine drinkers, but it felt excessive and distracting.

The food itself was good—creative and enjoyable—but at this price point, the atmosphere, service, and overall execution fell short. The space was oddly bright, and with only one other table occupied, the energy felt flat rather than intimate.

I genuinely want this place to succeed because the concept is exciting, and again, the food was solid. But in its current form, I can’t recommend it at this price. In a different location, with a few adjustments, I think the experience could match the ambition.

For now, though, it just didn’t deliver on the promise—or the price tag.

I had an incredible experience last night. Jacob and his team took hospitality to the next level. The Ten Course Meal was mind blowing. Along with Chelsea’s fantastic bar program, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at my first tasting restaurant. The attention to detail matters. I had a food restriction that I forgot to mention in my reservation notes and Chef quickly pivoted. I had a new dish in 3 minutes. This is a such an amazing addition to Birmingham and Alabama.

Our experience at Rêve was the embodiment of gastronomy. We opted for the six-course tasting menu—please hear me when I say that you will not be disappointed.

Each course was brimming with creativity and flavor, and portioned out in a way that allowed us to leave comfortably full. The dishes—much like the staff—are intentional. It’s clear that things are done with heart at Rêve. Take the beverage pairings, for example. Rêve offers both a wine and a cocktail pairing option for guests to choose from. From the first bite to the last, everything was truly exquisite.

We were aiming for a dinner experience unlike any we’ve had—especially in Alabama. Friends, that’s exactly what you’ll find at Rêve. Tastefully, thoughtfully prepared from start to finish.

My partner and I dined here on August 10th. We had just left a movie and stumbled upon Reve. We opted for the 10 course meal and boy was it a dream! The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was moody in the best way possible. And the food! The food rivaled some of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to and that’s saying a lot considering I’ve dined in NYC, Italy, The South of France, and Bangkok to name a few. I judge a meal by whether or not it gives me an umami sensation. Reve did. We bit into each course and smiled. The drinks complimented the courses. I really can’t say enough about how pleased we were from start to finish. We cant wait to return and see what else Reve has in store. Thank you for such an amazing experience!!

In a city renown for food, it is long overdue for Birmingham to have a true tasting menu, fine-dining experience. Revé delivers an experience worthy of a Michelin star. From elevated expressions of regional classics to new inspirations, this dining experience was a treat. We did the 10-course tasting menu over 3 hours. We also tried several delicious cocktail and mocktail options. Will definitely be back.

I tried Rev for the first time and really enjoyed both the food and the overall experience. I had the Attelier (sp?)–the six-course meal. While some courses stood out more than others, one in particular–the deconstructed French onion soup–was plate-licking, out-of-this-world good.

The service was excellent. Each course was explained clearly, and pacing went well. I did not try the wine nor cocktail experience.

In my opinion, this is the most unique dining experience in Birmingham and definitely worth a visit.
