This place is a hidden gem that deserves way more attention. We stopped by for dinner and were blown away not just by the food, but by how kind and welcoming the owners were — you can tell they genuinely care and love talking about what they serve and who they serve it to.
We started with the fried dumplings and calamari as appetizers, both crispy, flavorful, and clearly made fresh. For drinks, we tried the matcha boba and milk tea boba — both were delicious.
The highlight, though, was the main dishes. The pho with steak and flank was phenomenal — rich, deep broth that you can tell was simmered for hours (we learned from the owner it’s made in-house and cooked for over 11 hours!). The steak flat noodles were packed with flavor and cooked just right with a spice level I got to decide. The owner told us the sauce is made with over 10 vegetables. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and would definitely make anyone sick feel a little better!!
Even though they also serve Chinese and Japanese takeout, the pho and Vietnamese dishes feel incredibly authentic and made with real care. It’s rare to find a place that has such variety and quality, but they do it effortlessly.
They are also open to dine in and were very excited to have us dine! So so sweet and friendly, the food tastes and feels home made!
We discovered it’s under new management after asking about it being a Tokyo mandarin previously. The previous owners retired and now they have uplifted it and are adding more to the menu
Highly recommend giving them a visit — whether you’re looking for comfort food, a casual dinner spot, or just want to support a hardworking small business that truly puts love into their food.☺️

We used to love Tokyo Mandarin. But now that’s it’s under new management, the food has changed so much. It doesn’t taste as fresh like it used to. Everything is too over cooked and gummy. We also received the wrong sushi. They don’t seem to understand us on the phone. I ordered a shrimp tempura and got some fried shrimp with cream cheese in it. Not shrimp tempura but also not a Philly roll. It was nasty. We’re done with this place and will find a new one. It’s sad that it’s changed because we’ve been coming here for years.

This was our first time eating at this place and sad to say definitely our last. We have been going to this Chinese place for years and when we called to place an order it was unknown to us that they were under new management until we pulled up to pick up our order. So, it was too late to cancel. We did have a red flag when placing the order the person who answered was not good at taking our order and had to repeat several times and she still got our order wrong once picked up. Then, we let them know the order was wrong and had to wait for them to cook the rest of our order that we paid for that they failed to include in our order, so it took another 15 plus minutes while the rest of the order sat and got cold..The shrimp fried rice was not good all, it was not authentic Chinese rice in our opinion. The shrimp was the smallest shrimp (salad shrimp) we have ever seen and the pork rice had the smallest pieces of pork that I have ever seen and there was barely any pork or shrimp, we had to put a flash light over rice to find some shrimp and pork. We also asked for extra onions and beans sprouts which they did not put in the rice.. but charged us for them. The chicken wings were ok but not pleasing to the eye at all. They also don’t have pint size containers which is strange and not what we are used to seeing. After, waiting for them to fix the rest of our food that was their error, they didn’t even apologize for having the rest of our food get cold and for a ridiculously long time we had to wait for the mistake..Please be warned about this place. It’s not the same Tokyo place Never again!!!!

The broth for this Pho is a cure for hang over, one of the best in south NJ. They are not shy to load the bowl with meat, must try when come here.
We order the hand roll tuna and I knew it, they use fresh ingredients, the Tuna tasted so sweet and fresh. Not only they serve good food, the owner and server were friendly, you can tell they value their customers.

I was incredibly sick and only wanted one thing: brisket pho with no cilantro. I placed an order online and half an hour later, my husband offered to go pick it up for me. He arrived a few minutes past the time the confirmation page said my order would be ready by. After several minutes, he was finally helped and they informed him that they hadn’t even *started* to cook our order, even though it was 15 minutes past the pick up time already. When he returned home with the order, the pho I had ordered *still* had cilantro in it, despite having specified to not include it.
I’d had their pho before and when my husband had questioned even going to this restaurant because of its low rating, I had vouched for them and insisted they were good and for him to give them a chance. This was a huge disappointment— my order was late AND wrong.

Went on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite. Had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The cold noodles, wonton, and miso soup were so good. We also shared a Tuna Poke bowl and Lobster Tango Roll which was pleasantly fresh.

I’ve ate at the other Tokyo mandarin locations and always enjoyed my sushi. Tokyo mandarin is where I’ve learned I loved sushi. This Deptford location is absolutely disgusting. My sushi is completely dry and I ordered 4 different rolls. All 4 are disgusting. The seaweed is either stale or old because you can’t even chew it at all and everything is dried out inside the sushi. Absolutely disgusting a complete waste of $60. I DO NOT recommend them for sushi at all. I’m surprised this location is still even open.

Was slightly nervous at first seeing Tokyo and pho in the name of the restaurant. Turns out they do both sushi and Vietnamese soup very well. The manager was incredibly kind and gave us great recommendations. Told us that the pho broth is cooked for at least 12 hours. Took pride in their food and it showed. Will definitely be back soon.
