Talulla is a great contemporary fine dining restaurant, with white table linens, that is not very common any more in the Boston area. The food is very good in general with seasonal changes that keeps the menu fresh. It’s the type of chef owner restaurant that we love to support, especially given the great cooking and efforts in bringing a reasonably priced fine dining experience that we find seriously lacking today in Boston.

The foie gras torchon is always a favorite of ours. Proteins and pastas are usually well cooked and flavorful. Dessert is not their strong suit, however, and we usually skip that course.

The staff is friendly and efficient. Chef Connor is very welcoming whenever we get a chance to interact with him. We always enjoy coming here for good food and hospitality.

Talulla is a gem tucked away on Walden Street in Cambridge—quiet, intimate, and deeply seasonal. I chose the five-course tasting menu with a couple of à la carte additions, and nearly everything about the evening was memorable in the best way.

There was a slightly awkward start: I arrived a little early in heavy summer rain, stepped inside, and was asked to come back closer to opening. I understand prep time is important, but the tone felt unnecessarily firm given the weather. That moment aside, once seated, everything smoothed out beautifully.

The food was excellent from start to finish. Highlights included a delicate scallop crudo, luxurious foie gras torchon, perfectly cooked butter-poached halibut, and a tender lamb loin. Dessert brought a fragrant lavender panna cotta, and an à la carte tagliolini with lobster was rich, savory, and satisfying. The meal closed with a tiny cinnamon-sugar pastry—an unexpected and charming finish.

Service was thoughtful and attentive, with special thanks to Jade for her warmth and care. Talulla’s 23% administrative fee in place of tipping is explained clearly. Despite the rocky beginning, the evening itself was graceful, confident, and deeply enjoyable.

What a delightful dinner! The food was excellent, and the servers were attentive without being intrusive, clearly knowledgeable about the menu. The seasonal offerings were wonderful, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The décor is simple and clean, creating a comfortable atmosphere. I’d be happy to return again.

This place RULES. Very intimate and classy atmosphere, and the service was outstanding. Nothing felt rushed, but service was extremely attentive. I think the small number of tables allows servers to keep a close eye on every table and we had multiple servers bringing food to our table very timely, which was notable and appreciated.

Also the food and cocktails were all phenomenal. None of the dishes or cocktails I tried had a particularly strong, overwhelmingly notable flavor profile, but everything tasted on the more simple, slightly under-stated, and unpretentious-side. This isn’t a knock at all, but everything was done just right. Looking forward to coming back! We were told the menu switches up every couple of weeks, which is all the more reason for multiple visits.

Value-wise, it’s pricey but worth it, in my opinion. You’re unlikely to have to roll yourself out of here, but I didn’t leave feeling hungry, either.

Talulla is one of my favorite restaurants in the Boston area. A cozy, vibey, and intimate space, it feels like you are visiting a friend’s house – only the food tastes waaaay better than anything your friend would make. I promise you! There is a real mastery at work here, and chances are you will love every single dish you try. And to make it even more appealing, you can choose between à la carte dishes and a tasting menu. All you need to do is bring your appetite.
The service is lovely, the cocktails are great and the wine list is full of interesting selections – with a great showing of smaller, off-the-beaten-path producers. It’s a total gem of a restaurant and one you should absolutely have on your list. It’s perfect for any occasion, or no occasion at all. Just go already!

Our waiter last night was so good! Such a nice cozy, stylish restaurant that has been on my foodie friend’s bucket list. We went to celebrate her birthday and I have to say that the pistachio cake dessert was the perfect way to end the night. Everyone enjoyed sampling and sharing various dishes. We particularly loved the cocoa pasta dish and pork with lentils. I appreciated the noise level want obnoxiously loud like other restaurants can be. Would def return, Tallulah would be perfect for a date night.

It’s your girl’s last year in her 40s, so we decided to celebrate with a fancy dinner at Talulla in Cambridge!

I had a lot of spare time to write this review, so I gave my opinion for every plate. But if you only have a few seconds, then here’s my bottom line: Hands down, highly, highly recommend Talulla, and I can’t wait to return!

For a more detailed review, keep reading…

We started with the housemade sourdough and focaccia with herb butter. The sourdough was good, but my favorite was the focaccia! Since there were only two pieces of focaccia, I made sure to savor every nibble. And that melt-in-your mouth herb butter…perfection.

We shared two starters, the Crunch Salad and the Local Burrata. The flavors in the Crunch Salad were exquisite, but the game changer was the whey sorbet that was placed in the center of the salad. I never want to eat another salad again unless there’s a scoop of sorbet with it. The Local Burrata was so smooth and creamy and it paired well with the sweetness of the stone fruits. The croutons were crunchy and a flavorful addition to the appetizer. There was a small slice of duck prosciutto with this plate, and since I was the birthday girl, I selfishly ate the whole thing in one bite.

For our pasta, we ordered the Spaghetti which included littleneck clams and yuzu kosho (citrus and chili paste) which gave it a nice kick! For our main meal, we delighted in the Bavette Steak, which was perfectly seared and incredibly satisfying.

During our meal, I sipped on a sweet mocktail while my husband opted for a glass of wine. For dessert, I ordered an Espresso Martini which paired well with the complimentary birthday dessert of coconut gelato. (Aw…what a thoughtful and refreshing birthday treat!)

We were pleased to meet Danielle, of Talulla’s husband and wife team. She was so sweet and very kind.

When we received our receipt, we also received a small card explaining that a 23% Admin Fee had been added to our bill in lieu of asking for a tip. This fee goes towards paying the salaries of all of their employees. After enjoying such a scrumdiddlyumptious meal, we felt that the 23% admin fee was reasonable and well-deserved.

All in all, we highly recommend Talulla and are looking forward to our next reason to celebrate at this charming establishment.

Small place, quiet and comfortable. Good for a date or a quiet meal.
Had the tasting menu. Right sized portions as there were 4 plates and then dessert. Did not feel hungry nor overfed afterwards.
The food was delicious. The wine selection was great anf non alcohokic cocktails were great – no basic overly sweet cocktails but refined drinks that paired with the dishes.
Would bsolutely recommend.

The food was amazing and service top notch. It’s pretty hard to find a restaurant that serves this high quality of food and original “outside-the-box” recipes in Boston. Great anniversary/date spot.

Our experience at Talulla was incredible. Dylan was fantastic – knowledgeable, personable, and made our experience great. He recommended some incredible cocktails and he was so knowledgeable about the wines. It was incredible to hear about the background, process, and subsequent tastes of each wine in such an entertaining way. We went forward with the five-course tasting menu, which was delicious. One of our favorite restaurants in the area for sure – we will be back!
