About an hour in, the owner came over and told us it was “last call”, even though there were no stated time or order limits for all you can eat. What made this worse is that after the owner said this, another server came by and asked if we wanted more meat, which made the “last call” feel intentionally misleading rather than a real policy.
At the very end of our meal, we found out that Brian had been fired, which left an even worse impression given how great his service was.
If not for the owner’s behavior and the deceptive handling of the so called last call, this would have been a 5 star experience. Because of that, I’m giving 1 star.
I’m Korean and have been to more kbbqs than you could count. I’ve never experienced where they just leave you hanging and don’t give you a last call.
Our waiter was good till we asked about a last call and why nobody was talking to us for the last half hour. He immediately got so visibly upset, letting out frustration and a big sigh, and ran to the manager to tell him we were complaining about time. Mind half our party is Korean, so we can understand them.
The manager then did come up to us and apologize and offer to let us order another round, but by then, we had to wait half an hour with apparently time up and nobody giving us a check. So we paid and tipped well cause until the end the service was good and called it a day.
I will say the manager did try to remediate the situation, which I did appreciate, but the end behavior of the wait staff was extremely alarming and inexperienced behavior, souring the entire experience. Sad to see it coming from your own people.
We’re super excited to have a kbbq option closer to the WeHo area with both per item ordering as well as AYCE options, and will make it a regular stop.
Each table had its own vent overhead, but tables look like they only seat up to 4, so not sure if you’d have to split up if you’ve got a larger group. They’ve only been open for a few months and I hope they can stay in business, I was happy to support them and will be recommending them to friends.
For parking, they share a valet with Angelini Osteria but if you can park a couple blocks north in the neighborhood you may be able to find free residential parking, or meters along Beverly.
They use paper for the waitlist rather than an automated system that wouldn’t have made this an issue. Would not recommend walking around while waiting since they will call for the name and there seems to be no other way to contact people on the waitlist.
Staff was friendly and courteous on downtime if they have time they can cook the meats for you but it’s also an experience as well to cook it yourself to whichever your choice.
They offer soju and beers and wines, good selections and sodas.
So if you have cravings for some kbbq come thru to pzk bbq, you won’t regret it bring some friends and enjoy! Definitely will be back!
