We had a cocktail at the bar of this high end hotel Maison 1896. The building was once the old post office, but has been beautifully refurbished to an hotel and restaurant. The decor has a sophisticated vibe, with plush seating and elegant furnishings. The waiter made a good Negroni cocktail, telling us he should as it was from his home country. We enjoyed a relaxed early evening drink, before moving on to eat at another of Beaune’s fine restaurants, so unable to comment on the food.

We had diner at Slanted Door in Beaune & we can’t wait to return. The food was delicious! We’re locals and this food is different, refreshing and unlike anything else in Beaune. So many great items on both lunch and diner menus, so we’ll visit many times to try them all! We enjoyed a great non-alcoholic cocktail from the bartender (that bar is gorgeous! What a room!) and also of course delicious wine! The desert cart was a fun way to finish the meal.

It’s advertised as Vietnamese, but I’d say Vietnamese-inspired French cuisine. It was really enjoyable, great food and wine pairing, easy to book, and very friendly and helpful staff. Great dining experience.

Great Vietnamese resto from SF. Best pho I’ve ever had. Go for it even if it’s a bit out of place. They have an amazing wine list and serve all their bottles by the glass.

This is outstanding. Stopped in on a cold rainy night in January and was very glad that I did. We ate in the San Francisco Slanted Door numerous times prior to its recent relocation. The Beaune restaurant is a “collaboration” but higher quality than the SF original. Flavors were much brighter and fresher. Excellent somm as well. Service was highly proficient and thoughtful. I look forward to dining here again next January.

A really lovely dinner! Each plate was delicious, but the standout was the daikon rice cake. We enjoyed talking to the sommelier, and felt fine asking for a lower cost bottle from the region. She brought us a lovely vin blanc from Cote d’Beaune. A great ambiance too.

We have eaten many times st Slanted Door in San Francisco but the Beaune restaurant was far superior to anything we have ever rated at Slanted Door in San Francisco . The quality of the ingredients was exceptional and the service superb. I did not know how truly flavorful freshly made spring rolls could be – every flavor perfect and the crab and cellophane noodles raised this fish to new heights . The sommelier was so knowledgeable and guided us to some of the best wines we had had. When you decide you cannot eat another escargot – go to Slanted Door. Your tastebuds will say thank you !

Slanted Door offers a delightful dining experience with Vietnamese-inspired dishes and a sharing concept. The flavors are bold, with the cilantro sauce accompanying the côte de porc being a standout—an absolute flavor burst! The food is well-prepared, and the service is top-notch, featuring a welcoming and friendly staff along with an attentive and knowledgeable sommelier.
The atmosphere at Slanted Door, with its stunning mix of limestone-clad windows and a glass vaulted ceiling, beautifully blends old-world charm with modern elegance, creating an unforgettable dining ambiance.
It’s a perfect spot for flavorful food and great wine in a beautiful setting! It’s wonderful to see Beaune expanding its culinary scene to embrace more global flavors and diversity.

not my first visit, few months before i was there and the food was way better.
they mention they changed the chef…
the dishes had no spice anymore and so we asked for some spicy sauce..took 30min and we got 3 types of spicy chilli sauce.
to our surprise on the bill they tried to charge 9euro for. We been stunned about that.
a chef which can’t cook proper plain rice should go back to the basics, not that we wanted to stuff us with rice.
the wine list is great plus and the best of this place with many options. ( just few mistakes)
overall very stiff environment and a bit of fun would be great in such a great menu concept place from SF.
as well not a single Vietnamese sweet, what a bummer.
