I guess this is what you get when you order a pizza 20 minutes before closing. The pizza was overcooked and incredibly oily. We actually had one slice each and threw the rest away very disappointing. The Caesar salad was about a stripped down as a salad could be.

Really disappointed with my experience at Breadbox in Portsmouth. I ordered two chicken Caesar wraps—one on a spinach wrap and one on a regular. Both came on regular wraps, and neither had any Caesar dressing. What I ended up with were two dry, flavorless wraps that didn’t even resemble what I ordered.
To top it off, the employees seemed smug and dismissive—probably because we ordered close to closing. Regardless of timing, we still paid full price and expected the order to be made correctly. The lack of care, poor service, and attitude made the whole experience feel like a waste. Won’t be back.

My husband & I were out walking and happened by this neighborhood pizza parlor. Since we are always looking for decent pizza we stopped in for a slice of cheese pizza to try it out. The restaurant has a real neighborhood pizza vibe with maroon booths, original wood floors, inviting high top tables near the windows – great old world feeling & decor – very clean and the menu overhead is new, easy to read and looks great. The pizza slice was the best we have had in a long long time. The crust is amazing and the cheese very fresh – just delicious. Menu selection looks very tempting – everything you would want in a pizza place. We will definitely return to try other menus items – if the pizza is any indication on the rest of the food we won’t be disappointed. This will now be our go to for pizza!!

After a long, bad Friday, all I wanted was a Spicy Flying Hawaiian pizza (and the kids wanted California Veggie wraps). And as usual, Portsmouth Bread Box did not disappoint. The food was perfect!

Unfortunately not much to redeem this place. The pizza is oily, lacks sauce, and has a sad crust. Dominos has better pizza. We also ordered wings and I’m 95% sure they were Tyson frozen chicken wings. Definitely won’t be coming back.

We order delivery from here and have had good food in the past but not so good the last two times. The pizza is ok. The chicken fingers and sweet potato fries are way too greasy. This last order, they packed the fries on top of the chicken for delivery. The food was so soggy when it arrived that I couldn’t eat it. I won’t order again.

I ordered a California turkey wrap whichever states it has avacado. I called them to bring it to their attention and was informed they do not have avacado. I suggested they update their menu which their response was it is updated..maybe someone needs to review their online presence.

Some of the best pizza and crust I’ve had, definitely my favorite in Portsmouth. I’ve been coming here for decades, great food, great staff and solid variety. The only downside being that I would never go here to eat in the restaurant itself, It’s very small with a handful of small tables. That said, 95% of people are here for the takeout anyway, and I don’t think the inside matters. Treat yourself, get some grub.
