We were visiting from out of town, and ate here on a whim. I am so glad we did. We ordered 3 different types of their pretzel dogs, which were all really good, but their garlic parmesan pretzel dog was the best. They also had home made mustards to dip your pretzel dog in, all of which were delicious. Everything is made fresh, so make sure you have about 15 minutes time to wait while they prepare it. The service was really friendly too. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Pleasantly surprised! For the most part, I avoid any food places next to any touristy spots, beaches, etc, as I generally feel those places have spent all their money on their lease and not on making good food. After seeing great reviews for this place, I decided to give it a try.

Basically connected to the IB pier, the location is great and you can take a few steps and be on the beach. When we walked up, there was a jazzy rendition of Hey Jude playing on a speaker in front. The shop was small, and not much room inside except to order and grab a drink from the fridge. There was outside tables and seating though, and plenty of places nearby to sit on if the tables are full. The lady, I assume one of the owners, gave us a friendly greeting and was very patient with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted. She was helpful in explaining the variety of dipping sauces they had and sides. We finally completed our order, and the guy working (husband? co-owner?) got right on our order, and we stepped outside to wait.

We grabbed a covered table and sat down, listening to jazzy Beatles covers and people watching. Not long after, the lady caught my attention as I was walking by the door and let us know our order was ready (I think they use the speaker to call names if you aren’t in nearby). There were a variety of sauces and mustards (many made fresh by the owners), and as we couldn’t decide exactly which we wanted, the lady grabbed a paper plate and basically gave us a sampler of all of the sauces, and laid them out on the paper plate like a painter’s palette, explaining what each one was. Haven’t met such a nice and helpful people at a food joint in a long time.

Now for the food! We got a sandwich, a savory crepe, and a salted pretzel. It was simple breakfasty brunchy meal, and I was just expecting it to be average quality since it was a place right off the beach, and was reasonably cheap. To my surprise, our food was really tasty! The crepe was stuffed with a good amount of meat and cheese, was cooked perfectly, and was folded up perfectly to make it easy to eat. The veggie sandwich was toasted perfectly and had just the right amount of everything to give it a good flavor. The pretzel was somehow fluffy but still crispy on the outside, warm, and moist. I don’t know how they did it, I’m used to the ones they serve at most other pretzel places that always taste kinda stale. We dipped our pretzel in the painter’s palette of sauces, and they were all good, and had very distinct flavors. I don’t remember what it was, but my favorite was the dark purple one. I’m definitely going back again to try more of their food!

Overall, great place! Very reasonable prices, and very tasty food! Great location, good music, and friendly staff. I wasn’t expecting to write an essay lol, but this place definitely deserves its good reviews.

Awesome location. Love the casual atmosphere right on the beach. Moved to the area a couple months ago and have been here about a half dozen times now. They seem to have high quality ingredients and some items I tried, although not all, were very tasty and well executed. My favorite items so far are the salt pretzel, cheese pretzel, ALL the homemade soups, and the hotdogs. My 4-year old son is sometimes a picky eater and he loved all these items as well. Can’t wait to try more of the items on their menu as I make more visits to beautiful Imperial Beach!

5 star +++!! Such a little gem! Mark and Shirley are special. The food they prepare is done the way things should be.. Fresh. Made to order. With creativity, attention to impeccable details, and you can taste the Love baked in. The only surprise was not a bad one. Just go there knowing there is no indoor seating. You will place your order with Shirley, inside a tiny location by the Imperial Beach Pier/Boardwalk. Wait outside under umbrella topped concrete tables, or stand inside & talk to Mark as he lovingly prepares outstanding food, made to order. Fresh made pizzas and the best soft pretzels I’ve ever eaten. Thank you!

I love soft pretzels. We saw that they advertise as the best and I tried one. It really was the best I’ve ever had. I came back the next day for another. We’re from out of state but I’ll plan a stop here every time we’re out. I’d like to try other things on the menu too!

I’m not a fan of beach food much, however this place is honestly one of the best restaurant in Imperial Beach. The food is made fresh everyday, and the staff is helpful and extremely nice. The chef is French and truly knows his craft. The delicious food is made with care. If you’re looking anywhere else, look no further than this restaurant.

Awesome food and desserts! The wheat pretzel and garbanzo hummus is a favorite if mine. And if they have their sesonal lemon curd, its awesome with the pretzels. Their pizzas are made with freshly made dough are wonderful. Desserts… Omgoodness! Sinful!
