New restaurant in Lancaster, a very short walk from the main square.

We got the fried bone-in chicken with fried bananas and the steak burrito. Everything was really delicious!

The best thing about the meal was probably the sauce, they offered a spicy and mild sauce to go with our food. Really delicious.

I would like to return and try some other things on the menu.

Crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside: the empanadas that are worth a try. I ordered a chicken empanada with cheese that cost three dollars and twenty-six cents, as well as a Malta Goya, a popular Hispanic drink. When I tried the empanada, I noticed how golden and crispy the outside of the shell was, giving way to the tender chicken filling inside. I learned that empanadas are a prominent food in Latin American and Caribbean cultures, but each culture prepares them in different ways, from the fillings to the distinctive markings on the outside of the shell. The crimping of the dough is a sign of the marker’s style and technique. This empanada also came with a sauce called mayoketchup, a mixture of mayonnaise and ketchup that is often accompanied with many Caribbean dishes. Eating this reminded me that food is more than just taste: it’s a tradition passed down and unique to each culture. If you’re curious of about empanadas, they can be a gateway to learning about the beautiful history and traditions of the Caribbean.

Looks are certainly deceiving! As good as they looked, the one I tried tasted terrible! I was raised by a Guatemalan mom whose food didn’t always taste great. One time she served us chicken that she accidentally seasoned in cinnamon. The most disgusting food that we forced ourselves to eat, only to find out what she did after. Maybe it’s because now I have a choice but these wings were not edible. The owner came in at the same time I brought them up and didn’t necessarily believe me. I told her to try them herself and she didn’t want to but did ask the back staff what they put in it and then told the front staff to refund me my money. The alcapurria is a bit thicker than a pencil and tasted like absolutely nothing. It’s not worth the amount they charge ($2.85 plus tax). We brought home shrimp tacos for my mom and she said the shrimp tasted like they may have been old and the sauce did also ($18.99). This was a birthday treat to me from my boys and I feel terrible that they spent the money they did ($103 before the $15 returned and not including tip). My son and husband both had hard pieces in their rice but said it was tolerable. My younger kids did enjoy their steak tacos and my son liked his beef empanada. I will say their drinks are ice cold and the only thing worth it from our receipt. I love supporting small businesses, especially those of Hispanic roots but sadly, I cannot recommend Los Paisas Restaurant in Lancaster, Pa.

José was a incredible host and the food was insanely good, I had to order some more to go. I realized I ordered for dine in near their closing time, I asked them to pack it up so I could take it to go. They insisted that I could stay until I finished my meal, that alone was something that no other restaurant would do.

I will definitely be returning and sending more people their way.

We came in here when we noticed this place finally opened up, and I was excited to finally have more Spanish food in the city since it seems a little rare. I wasn’t disappointed! Las Paisas has a very causal, modest environment with prices to match. I ordered the al pastor, asada, and shrimp tacos with rice and beans and was very satisfied with the plate. Both the shrimp and the al pastor were seasoned well, but the asada could’ve used more lard or salt. The meal also came with salsa roja and salsa verde bottles which were adequately spicy and complimented everything well. I would gladly come back for more especially for $4/taco!

Having to be driving by looking for a place to eat and seen this and stopped in first thing to my attention was the colorful on beyond the place thought it looked very original to Latin culture. The music was perfectly sound not too loud or obnoxious instantly grabbed the menu and went to order in the burrito combo and sopes. Food was brought to the table fast.
