I ordered the Tampa Cuban sandwich, and I can confidently say it was fantastic. Perfectly pressed, savory, and satisfying. The food coming out was clearly top-notch, and a huge shout-out goes to Sy, who was diligently behind the bar making all that great food.
The beer suggestions were also spot-on! The bartender, Thomas, did a fantastic job of guiding me through their extensive selection. Both Thomas and Sy were absolute pros, constantly hustling to keep up with the crowd while remaining incredibly upbeat and friendly.
Great food, great drinks, and phenomenal service from Thomas and Sy. This is a must-visit spot in Tampa!
Unfortunately, the food did not match the rest. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, and it was a huge disappointment. Instead of tender, juicy roast beef, what I got was basically just fatty skin, with almost no actual meat. The taste was off, and the texture made it impossible to enjoy.
Overall: great service and great ambience, but the food — at least my dish — was really bad. I wouldn’t order the same thing again. I will give 2 starts only for the service
The lady finally walks over with an attitude and asked us what we wanted to drink. I kindly asked for a menu and she responded with irritation, “all the beers are listed up here and pointed to the wall…”
I have 2 eyes that work perfectly fine to read all of the beer options you have to offer….. I asked for a menu. What if I wanted a soda, or water, or food…. I simply asked for a menu and somehow that inconvenienced her.
If you can’t work in the customer service field then find another career. Please stop projecting your personal issues on to customers!
Our server was run off her feet, but she did a great job, and the food was fantastic. I had their Cuban and loved every bite. Our table also had the Mac and cheese, comfort, and buratta & prosciutto; everything looked great and all was eaten. Portions were a good size, no one left hungry, and the local sourdough really topped off the sandwiches.
I would happily return and recommend this place to anyone in the area, or even anyone who might want to make a drive to check it out.
