Plantains always hit for me, but these were extra caramelized and gooey so I had to portion them out between the beginning and end of the meal. The mole sauce on the chili relleno was smokey and not as spicy, but really well-balanced. The tamale with red sauce seemed less flavorful than the other dishes, but I’m no tamale expert and I’ve been hanging out with a lot of Italians recently.
The Santa Fe burrito was out of this world: the eggs, nice and crumbly with tons of seasoning and flavor, the cheese-covered chorizo oozing into each bite. I need this again, and I’m sure there’s so many other incredible things on the menu to explore, but this is truly a hearty and unique item worth coming back for.
We were seated promptly but the server came over about 10-15 min later apologizing. We ordered 2 margaritas … took forever to get. Flowers put in drink 1/2 dead. No small dishes to eat nachos and dip in. Made a mess on table.
Not good.
Food was ok. Very hot in temperature which was good.
Took forever to get the check.
No personality or professionalism there. My husband said service one of the worst ever.
We were very disappointed.
I can’t say enough good things about El Tikal! The food is amazing — everything tastes super fresh and full of flavor. The drinks WOW!!! super flavorful and the tacos were perfectly seasoned, the guacamole was spot on, and the portions were just right. You can really tell they put love into every dish.
The vibe inside is warm and inviting, with a calm atmosphere that makes you want to stay and hang out. The staff is super friendly too — they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
Honestly, this might be my new favorite Mexican spot. If you haven’t tried El Tikal yet, you’re seriously missing out!
We tried this restaurant for the first time after a show at the arena, and it exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, we were seated immediately and welcomed with complimentary chips, salsa, and a unique white cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. The service was quick, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Everyone in our group cleared their plates, which is a testament to how good everything was! The chicken and spinach enchiladas were particularly memorable—simply out of this world. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back for more!
We came with a part of 9 an hour before closing. We were still eating 30 minutes after closing and they were just as polite and welcoming as when we walked in even though you can tell they were exhausted.
Excellent value for the quality and amount of food.
