The location is what makes this place great. It’s nice to sit there and watch the paragliders practice, takeoff, and land. There’s a beautiful view of the beach below.

Service is ok. Ordered at the counter and was given a receipt with a number that they will call out when our food is ready is be picked up at the trailer in the back.

Prices are $12 for a sandwich by itself. There were no sides included. I ordered the Chicken pesto sandwich and it was good. Bought an overpriced bag of chips and a small bottle of iced tea too.

Drinks with a view and that amazing San Diego weather. It was bit busy but we were able to get great seats. They have a full bar but canned seemed easier. We didn’t order food or use the restrooms (portapotties only!).

Unique and fun experience with top notch sandwiches as a pleasant surprise! Delicious and while a bit pricey, you pay for the views and the portions are generous. Worth the trek to get here. Great place to bring friends and family if they’re in town. Place was buzzing on a beautiful May afternoon.

Super cool spot. Amazing place to bring people from out of town. Awesome to watch the gliders take off. Great sandwiches and a surprisingly long list of beers on tap. A ton of seating and they make the food quick even when it’s really busy. Love these local spots!

It’s such a cool place! The food was quite good! Tasted healthy and was filling. Great view of people taking off on their gliders, great music vibes, and i would be happy to go for dinner/drinks next time. Overall, it is a very nice place to hang out, get some food, and watch the waves. Just watch out cus it gets a bit chilly with the wind :).

Came here yesterday on valentines day. We had just got done doing a hike in Torrey Pines state beach. We googled some lunch spots and found this one. We are sandwich people so we thought to try it… and it did not disappoint. We loved the amazing view of the ocean and the gliders. It was like lunch and entertainment in one. It really was relaxing.
I ordered the TURKEY TUSCANY but sub ROSEMARY BREAD and my fiance got the HAM TEXAN. Both were delicious. The rosemary bread is so good! The lady taking our order was super nice. The ambiance was beyond beautiful because u are on a cliff with the ocean view and air and the San Diego sun..
Note: it may seem confusing when you walk up but yes it’s the blue building connected to the gliderport. Also it’s a dirt parking lot.

I’m honestly very disappointed with the way I was treated at this bar. I ordered a pizza and waited… and waited. After about 30 minutes, I politely asked about it and was told it was coming. Another 30 minutes passed and still nothing. I had to ask again, only to find out my order had basically been forgotten.

What made the situation worse wasn’t just the delay — mistakes happen. It was the attitude. The cashier and the manager were both dismissive and rude when I brought it up. Instead of apologizing and trying to fix the situation professionally, they acted like I was inconveniencing them for simply asking about food I had already paid for.

Good customer service isn’t about being perfect; it’s about how you handle problems when they happen. In this case, the lack of accountability and the disrespectful tone were unacceptable. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting basic courtesy.

Casual sandwich shop right next to the hand glider launch over the cliffs. Lots of picnic benches where you can get an amazing view of the La Jolla coastline and the gliders. Fun place to visit and enjoy the beautiful views of the hand gliders. The sandwiches we had were decent but not great but I like that they have a quick restaurant next to the glider port.

Great place to have lunch along the cliff overlooking the ocean and watching the paragliders. Descent priced food and drinks…well worth the visit.

Cliff Hanger Cafe is a casual spot that offers decent food, perfectly suited for its scenic location. The pesto chicken sandwich was huge, while the chicken Caesar wrap was okay, though not the best I’ve ever had. Very heavy on the lettuce, but not enough chicken or substance. I didn’t taste any croutons. However, the tortilla was fresh and toasted.

The service left something to be desired—slow and a bit disorganized, with orders being called out in no particular rhythm. It felt more like a food truck experience, albeit one built into a building, serving up standard lunch fare.

I came in with low expectations, and they were met. While the food isn’t anything special, it’s good enough for a quick bite in a beautiful setting. If you’re looking for a casual meal without high expectations, Cliff Hanger Cafe fits the bill.
