Service is ok. Ordered at the counter and was given a receipt with a number that they will call out when our food is ready is be picked up at the trailer in the back.
Prices are $12 for a sandwich by itself. There were no sides included. I ordered the Chicken pesto sandwich and it was good. Bought an overpriced bag of chips and a small bottle of iced tea too.
I ordered the TURKEY TUSCANY but sub ROSEMARY BREAD and my fiance got the HAM TEXAN. Both were delicious. The rosemary bread is so good! The lady taking our order was super nice. The ambiance was beyond beautiful because u are on a cliff with the ocean view and air and the San Diego sun..
Note: it may seem confusing when you walk up but yes it’s the blue building connected to the gliderport. Also it’s a dirt parking lot.
What made the situation worse wasn’t just the delay — mistakes happen. It was the attitude. The cashier and the manager were both dismissive and rude when I brought it up. Instead of apologizing and trying to fix the situation professionally, they acted like I was inconveniencing them for simply asking about food I had already paid for.
Good customer service isn’t about being perfect; it’s about how you handle problems when they happen. In this case, the lack of accountability and the disrespectful tone were unacceptable. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting basic courtesy.
The service left something to be desired—slow and a bit disorganized, with orders being called out in no particular rhythm. It felt more like a food truck experience, albeit one built into a building, serving up standard lunch fare.
I came in with low expectations, and they were met. While the food isn’t anything special, it’s good enough for a quick bite in a beautiful setting. If you’re looking for a casual meal without high expectations, Cliff Hanger Cafe fits the bill.
