Beautiful beach with clean bathrooms. beach lunch was simple and nothing fancy. The staff was very attentive. There were a few small shops selling souvenirs… nothing pushy. They had free tequila tasting. They did take credit cards, but it is always good to have $USD for tips and the small stuff.

Arrived, relaxed, ordered our food before snorkeling and asked it be ready once we were done. Sure enough, it was brought out perfectly timed after we dropped our gear off (which the borrowed gear was clean and reliable).
The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet.

It is a great place to relax with a really nice beach. I didn’t try any food, but I had plenty to drink. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Keep in mind, the road has a lot of pot holes, so you’ll need to go slow. It’s also a bit of a drive from the main road.

I was there with my wife today, we’re visiting from Canada. We ordered food and it took about 45 minutes to arrive. They clearly prioritize larger groups (cruises, guided tours) and are unwilling to help walk-in customers. The food we ordered (Nachos) was fairly good. After eating, we went swimming and, shortly after, the waiter shouted at us almost as if kicking us out, saying that we must leave in 10 minutes because they are going to close for the people who are coming from a cruise. We were also pointed in the direction of “public beaches” nearby. This was very rude and we felt really not welcome. The beach and sea are public everywhere here, but they make it feel as if they “own” that stretch. Frustrated and leaving, I spoke to the manager (Luís Coca), and his response was to ask for the waiter’s name so that he could reprimand him. I did not want that, so I just left. Too commercial vibe, I do not recommend. Go to places where people are more friendly and welcoming of tourists in an authentic, amiable way. There is plenty of options.

Stopped here during our port stop, and so glad we did. Their place was totally free of seaweed while surrounding areas on the island were overrun with it. The colors of the sea are indescribable! The service was friendly and dependable. The food was absolutely amazing, We had chicken and beef tacos as well as chicken nachos. The beach had several people on it, but it never felt crowded. They have folks who will offer trinkets, just like everywhere else in the country, but they were polite and never pushy. I probably shouldn’t rave so much so I can keep this hidden gem to myself, but if you are planning a visit certainly worth a visit!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Everything started well — we arrived, enjoyed the beach for about an hour, and then ordered some food. After we finished eating, we left our belongings on the beach chairs and went for a swim.
About two minutes later, one of the bar staff members (whom I couldn’t identify because I was in the water) started yelling at us in English, saying we had to leave because they were closing. It was around 3:00 pm, and they close at 4:00 pm.
The guy was extremely rude, so we decided to leave anyway. Before leaving, my husband spoke to the manager and explained what had happened and how disappointed we were. The manager was not helpful at all — he kept asking, “Who was the guy?” I didn’t even have time to see who it was, as I was trying to enjoy the beach . Ridiculous and rude.
I will never come back, and I do not recommend spending your money at this place. Also, the free beach nearby is much better for swimming — just walk past the last bar and enjoy a beautiful, free spot without rude and ignorant people.

The private beach was beautiful and the service was great. The food was overpriced. Our total bill was $75 for an order of coconut shrimp ($38 for 6 coconut shrimp that were burnt on the bottom) guacamole and chips, and 2 virgin daiquiris.

My husband and I had a fantastic day there. It was a cruise excursion, but I know you can go outside of a cruise. Service was great and the beach is pristine! Would go again in a heart beat.

A private club in the reserve, their only requirement for using the facilities is that you purchase food/drink which is totally fair! The water was clear and calm on an otherwise windy day in town. A lovely place to spend the afternoon and really got a wildlife fix on the drive out… raccoons, crocodiles and iguanas.
