Would suggest to everyone. This is great.
Edit: On the way out we stopped for pics and met one of the owners, Brian. This guy is one funny, down-to-earth Veteran who really left us on a high note. Stop in and say hi – you’ll be glad you did.
Our friends started off the evening with Ahi Tuna Tartare which was prepared with fresh Ahi tuna, avocado, and cucumber. Wasabi, sesame, and Wonton chips came with this great appetizer. Our friends truly enjoy the tuna. My wife and I tried the Pork Belly and Sprouts as our appetizer. This dish was a sweet chili pork belly with Brussels sprouts and chopped peanuts. The pork Belly appetizer was very flavorful. We enjoyed it very much. Both portions of the appetizers were of a good size. In fact, my wife and I thought, at one time, we would need a take-home box for the Pork Belly.
The wives both had the Verlasso Salmon which arrived with a rosemary apple sauce with herb-seared cauliflower and glazed carrots and greens. The wives both agreed, the salmon was divine and the portions called for take-home boxes. My friend ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta which was presented with sauteed Rock Shrimp, celery, onions, bell peppers, and tomato in a lightly roasted garlic cream sauce. The pasta itself was Campanelle. My friend enjoyed this dish very much. I had the Southern Spicy Chicken and Dumplings. This offering arrived with two pieces of chicken with vegetables and rolled dumplings in a chicken Jus (sauce). The chicken, vegetables and dumplings were delicious. My only issue with this dish was I had to hunt around and under the vegetables to find the few dumplings that came with the dish. The Red Lion may want to rethink the name of this offering as Spicy Chicken and Vegetables with Dumplings.
We all felt like the service was a little slow. In fact, at one time we were thinking of asking our server if they had forgotten about us. The restaurant wasn’t that busy, in fact, the chef was making the rounds at a few tables while we were waiting patiently for our meal. The service wasn’t really a deal breaker at all, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention it. We all felt the quality and quantity of the offerings justified the price. We will be dining here again.
The service was awesome as well! Very attentive and friendly.
I will definitely be back next time I’m in town!
Pictured is the pork on left and pasta with beef on right. I didn’t care for my husband sides that came with his pork dish. It was parsnips and unknown.
