This place slaps! I have finally found a new place to enjoy a true Al Pastor taco! Got my food to go, it was done quickly, the staff was wonderful and the environment was great! If you get cheese dip to go I recommend a 2nd bag of chips.

We really enjoyed the food.
Street tacos were very good as we’re the margaritas. If you don’t care about Mexican decorations then this place is very cool. We will definitely be back.

We made the LONG drive to Peosta to check out Esquina 563.

Overall, it’s the best sit-down Mexican spot in Dubuque County. The food at El Paisano is still our favorite, but this is a close 2nd.

Let’s start with the margarita. As a bartender for over 15 years, I appreciate it when a place actually shakes their margaritas to order and uses agave. Was it the best margarita I ever had? No, but it’s the best at a Mexican restaurant I have had in this area.

The salsa had a nice chiptole-smoke note. It was subtle, but it was there, and it was nice.

We ordered the queso and chorizo to start, and it was beyond fantastic. The cheese was creamy, and the chorizo had so much flavor. Will get this EVERY time.

We got the pork belly and el pastor tacos for dinner. They offer onion and cilantro on the side with all their tacos, the only way to eat street tacos.

The pork belly was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. Every bite had that little char note, and the fat was rendered great.

The el pastor tacos had a great sweet note without being overly sweet. There were even little chunks of pineapple that we both really liked.

I know a lot of people have been voicing their opinions about the number of Mexican spots in Dubuque. I personally love friendly competition in the hospitality industry because it pushes you to work harder and ensure you deliver an experience. Esquina 563 did not disappoint, and this will be our go-to spot for margs and tacos, without hesitation.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! From start to finish everything was fantastic — the food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. Stacey, our waitress, was absolutely incredible. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. She truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. We’ll definitely be back and requesting her!

Honestly, not impressed. It sells itself as upscale, but nothing about it is upscale other than the prices. The food is 90% the same food you can get at other places in the area, but it costs about 30% more. Staff was slow and we had to ask to have water brought to the table. My michelada was very watered down, I think they didn’t put anything in it besides clamato. My wife’s shrimp tacos looked like something my children put together, 3 shrimp on a flour tortilla, didn’t even ask if we would like corn tortillas (maybe they don’t offer them?). The “salad” side is literally just items that should come for taco dressing by default (lettuce, onion, tomato, sour cream). Birria tacos were the only thing semi impressive that we had. Will not be going back.

So was disappointed of this place. Didn’t feel Mexican at all and the wait staff were all just hanging around and when finally did take are order, the food was fair. Tacos dry and white cheese for chips a sm bowl was 9 dollars. Not impressed and will not return

Chips were over salted. Queso was salty. Service was slow and was not attentive. Servers were walking around, standing around, and looking at their phones. Due to this food came out cold. Prices weren’t worth it. I can go to other Mexican restaurants in the area and get the same overall experience for less cost. Not going back.
