I don’t get the hype behind Basiles. I had maybe the worst slice of pizza ever from there. The crust was floppy, the sauce was too sweet and …

The food: Major fail on my part not trying a regular slice. I tried the Chicken bacon ranch slice, and a Grandma Margherita. Both were very good. Not the best I’ve had, but very good nonetheless. I’d eat here again.

The service: pretty good. room for improvement. the guys value you as a customer, cause they get up and belly up to the counter to help you when you walk in, and they’re helpful. Just lack being more welcoming because they’re borderline mute cause of English not being their first language. They slightly make up for it cause at least their attentive when you walk in.

Atmosphere: not bad. Feels like an old dive pizza joint that got remodeled a few years ago. A modern esthetic that’s already aging (lol). Still new enough and clean enough to not scare me away.

This was my first time trying Basil’s Pizzeria. The service was very quick, which I appreciated, especially since it was busy. However, I ordered four slices and all of them were placed in one box, stacked on top of each other with paper plates in between. The cheese stuck to the plates, and the plates themselves stuck to my pizza. Even after pulling them off, there was paper plate residue all over the slices. At this point, I’m debating whether to not eat it or remove the cheese entirely. Disappointing experience.

My go-to pizza spot on Grove Street! Their margarita slices are delicious. They have a thick crust with light breadcrumbs on the bottom, creating a crispy yet chewy savory bite. $5 a slice not too bad !

The way this place handles food makes me wonder why they are still open. It’s sad because this is rule number one when dealing with food. It makes me feel like they don’t even wash their hands in the bathroom.
.
THEY ARE PICKING UP THE BOXES FROM THE FLOOR AND PUTTING CUSTOMERS FOOD IN IT.
.
This place went from a really good spot to go eat at, to the only spot open to eat at.

Servicible floppy pizza for a quick grab & go on commute. Pies are left to die waiting to be bought.

My husband just went to purchase a couple slices of pizza. The total was $20.. He told the clerk he’s paying with debit. Which he acknowledged he understood. When he asked for a receipt he saw that he was charged $22. When my husband asked why he was charged tax when paying with debit you are not suppose to. The guy had an attitude and gave him the $22 back in cash and told him he could buy pizza somewhere else. This disgusting and unprofessional behavior was not called for. We owned a few restaurants so we know how it works. DO NOT BUY from this pizza place! They are stealing folks money and are extremely rude and unprofessional!

The reviews threw me off and prices but decided to try anyway. The pizzas were delicious! I got the chicken ricotta which needed a little bit more salt but that’s my preference and chicken buffalo pies. The crust is different than other pizza spots but very good.

Annoyed with this place. Overall, the food has been good. But there has been one instance where my girlfriend went there to get pizza. The guy behind the counter was rude, then burnt the pizza. Ever since then, she has just gotten the pizza and we have taken it home to heat it up. This is a very big inconvenience now. And this is pizza from other places too.

Took my children to the eye doctor and they wanted pizza. 5 guys behind the counter and none of them spoke good enough English to understand my order. The customer service sucked. I ordered a large pie half cheese half pepperoni with an additional slice on the side with extra cheese. They literally put the additional slice with the pie. I DON’T EAT PORK. So I ended up not eating any of the pizza. Then the guy tries to hand me a hot metal pizza tray in my bare hand. When I asked for something to help not burn me or my children he seemed annoyed and told me to grab napkins. I told him no because I didn’t want my toddler who is experiencing her first allergy attack to accidentally burn herself. They told me they had nothing aside from the metal try. I asked for a pizza box they said they don’t do pizza boxes for orders unless it’s to go. I told them I’m not comfortable taking the tray. They told me they don’t recycle the pizza boxes and I would have to take it when I leave and I said fine no problem. Then came the issue of the plates. They became even more annoyed that I asked for plates. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and I personally don’t recommend people eating their. 36.50 for a large pie half and half with 1 slice of exrea cheese and 2 drinks and this was a horrible experience. I told my children we would go hungry before we patronize this business again while in the area.

Pizza tastes great and the workers are nice and efficient.

However, this place gets 1 star because we tried to tip the workers and realized the OWNER / MANGER KEEPS THEIR TIPS!! The workers that take care of customers late into the night do not get to keep their tips… I will never support a business that does not allow staff to keep their tips. Very unethical. Go have pizza at some of the other spots near by!!
