I had a great time there. Got the waffle bites upgrade (bc I just couldnt choose!) and all were delicious. Also got the veggie omlette, also delicious (plenty of fresh veggies). Husband got the Lobster Benedict, he was less thrilled with that one bc the lobster wasnt great. The Martini flight was yummy!!! Good quantity and enjoyable. The food does take a while to arrive as they make it from scratch (as advertised) so plan for that; I didnt mind at all bc I got quality time w the hubby and mimosas! Atmosphere got 4 out of 5 only bc it was a bit loud, but otherwise the decor and feel was very enjoyable. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to others.

The food was outstanding! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. We had quite the variety of goodies with all being outstanding. Our server Trinity was quite the gracious host/server, always checking in on us to see if we our food was good and if we needed anything else. Will definitely be coming back!!
Recommendation to come and enjoy the food is just moot. Definitely, definitely come check them out and enjoy!!
— Be aware that the food is made from scratch and wait times for it can be awhile, but the wait is very worth it. —

As someone who grew up in New London, I have always wished there were more destination-worthy, affordable food spots on Bank Street— I can safely say that Water Street Waffle Company takes the cake (or waffle, in this case)

Everything, from the portion size to the flavoring and presentation blew me away. I got the Original Platter and frankly taken aback by the combination of savory and sweet— whatever is in the batter itself made the waffle delicious, not plain like I’ve found in other establishments. The eggs and chicken sausage were spiced and cooked perfectly, the tater tots and roasted potatoes crunchy and also spiced well.

It’s safe to say that I’ll be a regular! Great for the family, friends, hangover fuel, or just a chill place to grab a cup of coffee.

Special shout out to Zack and Ada (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) for the unparalleled hospitality and attentive service!

We were excited to try this place for breakfast —lots of hype around the waffles and the décor is cool. The good: the waffles were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, as promised, and the menu is creative. The server was friendly and tried to do a good job.
The not-so-good: Once seated, our drinks took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, no specialty coffee yet? Which was a bummer. then they brought our food to the wrong table twice. It was upsetting. Definitely need to train the staff more. But on the other side, they just opened couple days ago, so hopefully they will improve. Also they were out of couple items on the menu. The waffles were very good, but the service/-timing issues pulled the experience down.

The omelette and avocado were really good, and the chocolate chip waffle was amazing! The house potatoes with seasoning were so flavorful and delicious. Our waitress, Trinity, was so sweet and accommodating — she even said that if we didn’t like the coffee she made, to let her know what she could change and she’d happily remake it. Such great food and wonderful service. Highly recommend!

For years I’ve been asking “Where’s the best place to get chicken and waffles around here? Where’s the best place to get biscuits and gravy?” And no one has ever had an answer.

Well – today I got my answer. Water Street Waffle Company! They do a chicken and waffles – smothered in gravy – AND fried green tomatoes! Fried Green Tomatoes had the exact right amount of seasoning, and – with pepper jam – chef’s kiss. The chicken thigh on the Dirty Birdie was also cooked and seasoned perfectly. Great crunch to the light breading.

They also had “Shrimp and Grits” and stuffed french toast on the menu, so I will have to come back tomorrow.

Bring your appetite, portions are generous!
Service was excellent and ambiance was great too. 10/10

This was my second time in less than a week to visit this spot. Today I was blown away. Both visits, the food was excellent! Today I brought an out of town guest and his mom in for breakfast. Trinity was our server and she was awesome. Two of us ordered the biscuits and gravy (YUMMMM) and the other ordered a veggie omelet. Also yum. Yes the wait is a little long, but sitting and chatting with friends and an endless supply of coffee and water…. makes the time go by. In other news, dont forget to pay the parking meter lol! I cannot wait to return ❤️

Order: Shrimp and grits, waffle bites ( pick 3 plain, cinnamon, chocolate nutella) mimosa, Drunken Master.
Wait time for food: 30-40 minutes after ordering
Overall satisfactory of food: unable to eat shrimp and grits ( no review). Waffle bites were okay, a little hard. Guest stated Drunken Master was okay, edible.
Cost: $60+
Tip: 20%. Saving grace was our waitress who tried her best to make light of experience etc.
Overall experience was a 2.5/5
Photo: Drunken Master: Guest tried the shrimp and grits on plate and agreed to no review.

For Sunday visits, pass by after 1:30pm due to being placed on a 20 min waiting list just for one. The slow start is worth the wait for the Sausage biscuits and gravy!

Place is a bit dark inside. Service a bit slow, but its worth the visit for the portion size, value, and friendliness of the host/ess. Great restaurant foram Americana breakfast.
